New World - Dex Veteran Picks Up A Fire Staff ... - FS/Rapier - PVP

I did the forbidden thing and grabbed a fire staff for the first time. This videos is a series of clips in time order so you get to see the progression, from deciding of the cycle and getting comfortable with it, to the point where it feels just very comfortable roaming around multiple 1vX situations, effortlessly taking on duels. For some reasons, the gameplay feels a lot like the Bow/GS thunder lord build that I main in many different ways. Both the GS and FS have that same cheesy noob feel. I love it, the mobility is a lot of fun, great burst, great sustainability. I bought a 100 more Intell food buffs and I'll use it all, so get ready to see a lot more of this build.

I know I know, I'm sorry! l'm guilty of having a little bit too much fun with it, especially coming from these throwing hatchet builds. This feels easy to play. Thats definitely an iconic weapon in NW and I understand why it's so popular. I just really wana know how it's played so I can delete them even faster. Knowledge is power!

also, imo.. for a FS/finisher build, u def want KJ on ur FS.. otherwise u are mostly missing out on the 15% damage increase. but with KJ on FS (instead of rapier) u proc KJ very often with the FS, so will have way better damage consistantly. the way u have it now, u need to fist get to melee with ur rapier, then get a KJ proc, then u have the extra damage, but that will be very little uptime, compared to KJ on ur FS. I always manage to proc that KJ very fast when engaging, and its usually then up constant

i just noticed u running onyx in ur FS..imo, the initial bursting down with FS, to under 70% is very easy and fast to do.. ive been useing emeralds now, which give the plus damage when target below 50%. i find this to get way more value, and ultimatly get kills better then onxy, which will only do anything for the first few hits.. and usually u have the fireball perk, so u burst down the first 30% health with FB and pillar fast n easy

I did run onyx at the beginning, I tried every gems but in the final build I'm using opal. Its always a good choice.

Hehe , yeah some players are melting. But they usually do big damage on the other end. Unless they really are under geared.

yeah, FS is prrty wicked, and so easy to play too (compared to most other high damage builds) but... u will only briefly have real fun with it.. after awhile, and having ur combos n moves down pat, it gets very boreing (imo) and kills arent half as gratifying as say dex build kills.. (unless of course doing 1vx, and/or pulling off rare perfect movement-hit combos etc) it kinda puts the pvp in easy mode too.. (coming from over 2 yrs of playing dex/melee assasins) u dont need the skillz u do when playing melee assasin(in light of course) its less up close n personal.. its often from range, with other ranged shooting as well.. bow is a high ceilling ranged weapon, but FS isnt. i immediatly got high kills when switched to FS. and much easier and relaxed. but then u kinda start missing out on getting better, and awesome plays etc. u hit the highest skill ceiling very fast. My best gear and bis builds are FS/finisher and FS/Abyss, they r perfect and 700gs. but i have gone back to my other dex builds, cuz i find it more rewarding and fun n chalanging. u prolly will too lol ;) or u become a real bot, and go Flamethrower, in med or heavy maybe.. and throw in pylon to make the bot easymode build even "better", ha. Also, with the huge amount of FS in the game, u will constantly fight other FS players, which i find very boreing mostly, its very one dimensional, and then usually comes down to who has the better stuff, or who landed one or two more auto inbetween. My highest games in opr are all with the FS btw. Atm im playing GA with throwing hatchets, very fun.. a good tech n setup with throwing hatchets can actually be very strong, em hatchet throw skills, with autos inbetween, have zeroed many a playa, with just the 3 skillz and a couple autos maybe

Hey man! Thanks for the feedback! I think I can easily understand where you're coming from. It all makes sense to me. It was so refreshing to me to play the FS for the first time after almost 5k hours in the game, and I see what you mean. There is noooo way I ever play flamethrower or pylon. I need dynamic light builds for the videos, I'am always thinking in term of aesthetic first before performance, for the clips. This one build, I really wanted with rapier to work towards a 1vX set up, mid range kind and the mobility is addicting, which inspires me for future builds. I think that the skill cap for this build is higher than most people think. I'm still missing some shots and abilities, there is the whole rotation with refreshing recovery combo, I can easily see it do 1v3, 1v4s with the right amount of hours into it. Not against sweatiest, but in open world maybe. That being said, there is still a large amount of builds I wana try! If you like GA/Throwing hatchet check my previous vid man! This went under the radar but its a banger build with a very high skill cap!
