New World: Five "New" Ways to Play Heavy

In this video, I highlight a few different "fun" ways to play heavy builds in #NewWorld. Again - I am not saying the perks mentioned in this video are the new "meta" or are "BiS" - I'm just sharing that it could be worth messing around with some of these perks with the upcoming heavy changes.

First I want to say thx for trying to correct mistakes devs cause. Good video and helpful. NW is far from beeing balanced and AGS is doing a bad job fixing this issue. They keep making it worse. They listen to whiners and nerf weaponclasses to death. Heavy armor is not overpowered and far away from dmg of DD glass cannons. FS and Bow need to be nerfed, thats fact. Shirking heal is a severe problem too, not heavy armor. It is all about mobility in pvp. A heavy tank wont ever catch a ranged and will lose sooner or later 1vs1. Buffed I have almost 6k armor and 25% fire and thrust resistance. Crits with bows or FS of 6k+ are not an exception. To punish heavy armor is a tribute to DD whiners, who wish 1 or 2 shot kills to be satisfied. Healers and tanks, who stand their ground during DD heavy attacks are an insult to the ego of pvp DD fanatics. AGS has always listened to these people and it has made NWs balance even worse. Cap the overall amount of HPs players can get from heals (healer, perks, potions) would be a better choice instead of nerfing healers. Each patch is another nail for NWs coffin.

Hearty was always necessary imo, but now not so much for heavy builds since you’ll be limited to two dodges regardless. Thanks for watching!

If you aren't spamming dodge I don't think it will be that bad. So for me this change is going to be horrible, i double dodge almost always because muscle memory from other games

Been medium this whole time. I get top 5 in every opr GA and WH. People are just trash imo don’t know how to dodge or evade. I’m really not even trying to be rude it’s just a fact. Only need heavy for war imo.

I don't think the 136 damage difference between enchanted or desperate a significant difference. An Attunement would be better even with the 1.5s cd. No proc. needed to use it. The 1.5 cd is also insignificant. Me playing hvy, mostly clump fighter, dodging never was a priority. Not using Opal's sooo. The stamina change for hvy....meh. We'll see tonight.

You can run both desperate and attunement if you want. I’ve been considering a shirking elemental perk to go with desperate, as I’ll be dodging anyways to proc that boost, and can get another large boost if I dodge an attack to utilize that shirking weapon perk. Dodging is always a huge value add regardless though, especially with so many perks that proc off of successful dodges, like shirking heals and fortification and whatnot. My favorite way to play heavy is to leavee the game uninstalled and never buy a expansion for a crap game.
