Worst bug i encounter the most is weapon swap input seems to get lost and not queue leading to me spamming an ability that is on cooldown becuase weapons didnt swap

Okay I thought something was up because I swear alot of time I switch and try to use ability as soon as I switch and come to find out I never switched weapons and end up getting wrecked trying to spam weapon switch

As always, thanks a lot for the transparency, it's great! I have a note regarding the Detonate Heartrune: Crit most certainly was one of its issues, considering it apparently bypassed Resilient entirely. However, in my opinion, the biggest issue with it is that unlike almost every other Heartrune in the game, it doesn't sheathe your weapon and therefore benefits from weapon-related empowers, while other Heartrunes don't. This means that its damage value and actual damage are much further apart than on other Heartrunes, which is also not at all obvious to most players trying to compare them based on their tooltips. The lack of sheathe is related to you being able to do other actions while channeling the Heartrune, which is fine. But Detonate should definitely get some form of treatment that makes it unaffected by Empowers that don't originate from the Heartrune itself to bring it in line with how the others work. It could then be rebuffed slightly to compensate for some of the damage loss. As far as I'm aware, the only other Heartrune this applies for is Stoneform, where it only really matters for the Brutal version.

Not just empower the issue imo. I think detonate is most deadly in 2 combo. burn out fire staff and stun hammer.

Worst bug: Status bar with buffs above health bar lives its own life, showing and hiding buffs however it feels like. In the beginning of an expedition i buff up my character , in 5 mins status bar empty. Makes me keep wasting consumables thinking thats buffs expired.

The bug that bothers me most is the season 2 launch caused the worst performance issues in the entire games history. It’s almost unplayable. Constant lag/stuttering, can’t even tell what’s going on half the time, rubber banding every where. Please fix!

The lag in brimstone even before season 2 patch, if you're anywhere in brimstone it'd have lag spikes pretty consistently. If you go into an instanced event such as an expedition or invasion or war while in brimstone sands, you'll experience the same random lag spikes.

Worst bug: Leaderboard in OPR never works properly especially for healers. 90% of the time it tells me that I have had 0 healing all game. It would be nice to know how I’m doing to be able to better myself.

1. Agree the detonate can hit big numbers in the right scenario. I do not think removing its ability to crit is the answer. It was discovered that detonate ignores crit damage reduction of resilient. Fix this bug and then re-evaluate the data to determine how to balance detonate further. Don’t fix a bug by removing a feature. 2. Have you considered changing invig punishment to be effected by the number of debuffs (not buffs) on the enemy? This would indirectly buff support weapons that are focused on debuffing and make more perks viable. Some perks are currently not taken because the interaction with invig results in a net increase in damage taken. This would also incentivize perks that remove debuffs and cleanse pot usage. And while you’re at it, add cleanse pots to OPR. Worst “bug” - performance decrease in season 2. We really need a patch that focuses on bug removal and performance optimization. I’d take this over a a balance patch. Thank you.

Worst bug: Void Blade not registering light attacks. In opr/arena despite receiving audio feedback for hitting target, there is NO dmg.

Not really a bug, but currently I would love to have more visibility of team mates at closer ranges. Currently when you are in bigger fights it can be hard to keep track of your group members.

Yes, they're hardly noticeable and those markings chasing the edge of the screen don't help, they're disorienting, some arrows under my character's feet would work better.

Getting hit by light melee attacks interrupt ranged ability casts. Plus, some players have a significant rift advantage despite similar ping and latency.

This feels so transparent, in-depth, and like we're being listened to. Very encouraging and I hope we see this level of engagement from all content going forward. The balance direction feels great, now we just need more modes and wayyyy more OW PvP.

Some good changes but I still find it insane he doesn’t talk about slows and staggers. Everything you do slows you and staggers have no diminishing returns. Stone form is not a valued response. It’s not something readily available for all players. Every other game I’ve played gives the player a cc break built into their kit. The game needs tbis and the game needs slows to not be so overwhelming. Running with cannon balls chained to your legs isn’t fun gameplay.

Ice spike/Mighty spike hits about as hard as an auto attack, but it's skill shot + cool down. Might as well just remove it.

Ice spike probably has one of the highest burst damage potential of all skills. Just aim towards the side of target's feet for pvp for an easy double hit. Or lock them down with your other skills before spiking for a potential triple hit. All hits can crit and are not reduced by elemental aversion so even tanks can be melted with this

When balancing do you join random oprs or just look at spreadsheets? The numbers don't always express the feel of the game. Like when muskets were op high usage low win rates. But didn't feel good dying 0-5+ and winning

Do you think the 60-day faction cooldown is good for the game? My friend just switched factions to join a company, and then the company switched colors two weeks later. Now he is stuck and uninstalled the game. This guy had 4k hours and was gaining good traction with PvP.

Incentivize more people to play melee during OPR because sometimes theres 1-2 melee and the rest are ranged so the match never goes anywhere or 1 team just stomps the other team by having 5-10 melee while the other team only has 1-2 melee

2 points I would like to make which isn’t mentioned in this video: 1: Skewer with perk on weapon is 45% weaken, that is nearly HALF your damage gone, that’s way too strong. 2: Flamethrower needs a COOLDOWN! Just dodging and endlessly using the ability is horrible to fight against.

The only " bad " thing is the sword / shield not being separated , I believe that many players have dreams of being able to play only with the Sword , but today it is not possible since it has only 16 attributes and that is bad , while others dream in using a spear or hatchet next to the shield.

I appreciate the comment about the good players making bow look broken. Good players should be rewarded. If I pick up a bow, I’m not much of a threat to anyone but I’ve seen some players who absolutely shred people. I think it’s a great philosophy for the balance of the game.

@@Ohanzea I don’t want buffs or anything to bow, I just said I like the idea that it’s okay if some weapons feel strong if mastered. I’m happy the devs seem to want to take this approach. As for the dex changes I’m not a huge fan as it really nerfs the int/dex hybrid builds. I see why they are doing it though, the dex/str users have what feels like unlimited s and stickiness, it definitely needs to be tuned down.

The single combat bug that bothers me the most: As a frequent M10 Tank, there is nothing more annoying than when a mob starts charging at my healer/dps, I taunt it (the lightning bolt taunt icon shows up instantly), and the mob still continues to channel its predetermined attack on whoever it was running at, and THEN returning to the tank. Taunting a monster thats mid-attack should override the mobs animation lock onto its target. Sucks seeing one of Isabella's dogs in Dynasty run at my healer for 7 seconds and kill him while there is a taunt lightning bolt above the dog for the entire time.

Great video, few things I’d have liked to hear more on such as Ice Pylon, flamethrower, Melee stagger & “no sprint” duration combined with reduced dodge distance when slowed, Greatsword balancing, Audio disappearing after instanced pvp content and not coming back until in another instanced scenario, etc.

@@raidolato I have tried everything when your team is getting ran through only play is to back cap away from the enemy team but there are 3 pvers strategizing to stay inside the fort with their bows and firestaffs and building over and over again it’s a joke. The one counter play you have to a bad team, what else can you do other then afk

Bug: Thrown hatchet skills, specifically infected throw and sometimes distancing throw often don't activate when pressed. Your character will kind of flinch and nothing will happen.

detonate should be a spherical hitbox, and not a cylinder. its crazy that dark ascent gets destroyed by it despite being nowhere near the explosion. there are also some melee aoe that have a spherical hitbox, like spinning attacks hitting me when i'm 5 meters in the air during ascent.

Bugs id love too see fixed: - Jumping somehow screws up your hitbox, ppl tend to jump alot and avoid attacks, make jumping cost 25 stamina or something cuz that seems to be the easier fix then fixing hitboxes - Hatchet Berserk removing stun - while youre stunned (after youve been stunned you shouldnt be able to do anything- until stun is over, or let me use my regen pot while stunned, because that clenses a debuff aswell lol) - Hatchet Berserk animation cancelling - Buffbar (yes it was on ForgedInAeternum but still, the whole design is a mess and buggy)

Combat Bug: Spinning voidblade is back, can be fixed with the use of another ability and/or a dodge. Becomes a huge problem in clump combat, like the wurm, where you can't see your character and could be doing ranged attacks with the void gauntlet instead of the blade for a good portion of the blade's duration.

Community question answer: Explosive damage, known ones are Fireball, Cannon Blast with the explosive upgrade, and Blunderbuss Splitting Grenades, dont do damage sometimes, happens pretty frequently in a play session, thats the bug that bugs me the most

most annoying bugs to me are haste from dodging on bow not activating (yes im aware it must be at 100% stamina) the buff icon will show but you dont get the haste or the haste animation on your character, but the haste on weapon swap seems to be doing fine. Another one is not knowing if your weapon coating is active cause the buff disappears, specially if swapping weapons and then back

Blunderbuss skills like spliting granades and shrapnel blast sometimes dont dmg enemies, Skewer sometims teleports u back where u started after animation. Weapon swap bug is still there, which is very anoying. Ice storm still drop on your feet sometimes.

The Blunderbuss combo was not limited to macro users. As a dedicated BB user I enjoyed practicing it and now pulling it off consistantly. I think removing it because its a bug is fine but removing it because macro players are abusing is a poor response to the lack in anti-cheat. Only harming the BBs skill ceiling and ignoring the real problem.

I've seen videos from players that TESTED Detonate, and they say that Resilient doesn't reduce the damage of Detonate crits at all. If that's the case, maybe just make resilient work, instead of turning off crits. NOT A BUG: But something that SHOULD be changed, is to allow DoT effects from different players (even if it's the same source) to stack. The fact that only 1 person in a group can have Tondo bleed going or any of the spear bleeds, or GS bleeds, is disharmonious to group play. IF the DoT is factored into that weapon's DPS and power level, then it should apply in all cases. It makes DoT effects kind of worthless in PvP, because anyone else with the same weapon will instantly over write your DoT. 2 spear players focusing the same target get only get 1/2 the total benefit they should be from their bleeds.

The only reason the firestaff kill distribution hasn't spiked is because players are smart and slot Ruby gems to counter the damage. This isn't a good measure of whether a weapon is over-tuned.

Don't know if its a bug, but not being able to see the dmg numbers when you get hit by enemies in pvp really sucks, not being able to see what type of dmg killed you and why you died is aggravating. Would love to see a Breakdown of Dmg that killed you like some games like League of Legends does.

I am tired of attacks hitting inactive respawn points in opr or flags at forts.. Love these videos. I really hope that with the game getting to be pretty ballance a new pvp mode could be released .. Not a altered or updated version of what we have now. I would even take a capture the flag at this point.

All of this sounds great. Biggest "bugs that bug me" are Spear's reach where it hit's you well beyond what the animations show. Even the autos, you'll see it miss by 5ft but it still registers as a hit. If this is intentional, have vfx that demonstrate the spear's actual range. Another is getting hit when you're using Fleche with the rapier sends you into a standing pose and slides you across the ground. A 0.5 sec invulnerability or updated animation might make it feel less bugged. Riposte only works half the time so maybe increasing it's time of effect before a stun or slightly increasing it's range so it actually hits people who have long weapons that aren't dodging might go a long way.

The shield bash bug you allude to affects every perk that has a root extension in the tree that isn’t part of its base. Another example of this is void gauntlet’s scream. The most annoying bug(s) for me right now are oblivion cancelling SNS’ defensive formation aura till the shield is dropped and put back up again. If you drop the shield and put it back up too fast the buff also does not reapply, which leads to weird situations. This is inconsistent with the past change that made it so oblivion that made it so oblivion could no longer remove sacred ground’s healing. This makes fights feel clunky for the class.

Worst bug: not sure if it's a bug or an exploit but when leaping strike hits you about 3-5 meters further than the animation displays is frustrating especially if you're trying to time a dodge to avoid it but can't because the visual impact is off on the receiver's end

My answer: Fix the bug on throwing hatchet please. After using a throwing skill and then trying to throw another hatchet the auto attack turns into melee, even though you're still in a throwing stance.

the 150/300 dex perk swap makes a lot of sense. It doesn't punish full dex players, but makes those that just go dex for the perk have to rethink and redistribute points.

PvP with GS: Sometimes when I use skywards slash and get stunned at the same time, I will still hit the player but get my ability back

The weapon swap button not switching weapons. If I push the weapon swap button it shouldn't keep me on my main weapon. It's messing up the flow of combat when I cannot get my off hand weapon.

Worst bug: Void Blade not registering light attacks. Despite receiving audio feedback for hitting target, there is no dmg either in pve/pvp. PLEASE FIX.

Unsure if its a bug but fighting in wars in clumps around point it can be very laggy and or hard for many reasons to weapon swap. It would be nice to get back more control or your character on point to wep swap.

Fireball, flare, nades, mortars… all have a chance of not doing dmg. Bow picked up by everyone because it’s so broken and BB is the one getting a nerf? Crazy. WR is not how you should be balancing weapons. OPR is a sit on point gamemode. If the weapons that don’t sit on point are beating or in line with the ones that do, it’s overpowered.

This is the most interesting type of dev videos for me. Thank you! Short feedback about state of 500-con SnS tanks: + Utility of SnS is in the good state. + I also loved 23.5k HP (thank to hale and hearty bug) I mean you can hurt SnS in terms of stickiness fixes but return that power loss in hp increase. That would be fair. - I have no 2nd weapon to feel my support build completed (LS is useless, with WH/GA you need to play as bruiser not tank, with GS you are tanky but have no CC and no impact, IG is perfect choice but still something is not there where it should be) so flail waiting room is here ;) - Think about making defender's resolve skill not cleanable. In center of things in mass PvP or wars you just can't rely on it because you being oblivioned every few seconds (perk of VG's skill oblivion removes all buffs from targets). In practice this means that SnS's skill defender's resolve just does not work in organised mass PvP (you just lose its effect right after activation whenever you try to protect yourself by it in clamp). This is bad. Short feedback about different things: 1) Detonate spam is caused by the fact that to kill somebody you have to use burst damage because sustained damage is not effective and will be outhealed very easy. Also if you will calculate amount of damage that tank or bruiser or any other character can absorb by himself per some not so long period of time (something like effective hp in other words) then you will find out that healing of healer is almost 10 times more effective in terms of countering incoming damage. So actually frontliners in New World aren't do tanking they are being healed. Think about it. 2) Disgusting matchmaking in OPR is a huge problem. Good to hear that devs also think so. Also keep in mind that at the moment OPR is the only mass PvP activity for 99% of players (bad matchmaking there kills ALL mass PvP for 99% of players). 3) Weapon balance is really pretty good.

Can we please get some movement on getting Leaping Strike’s hit box redone. It’s already the best gap closer in the game. Shorten the hit box so it doesn’t leave a sour taste in people’s mouths when they’re hit by a ghost blade 3-5 meters away from the animation itself. Ask any SNS player and they will tell you how satisfying it is to not actually have to be in visible range to stagger someone. Same deal with Shield Rush.

This isnt a bug but could we get rid of the blue holograms on the doors in opr. Not being able to see that you're about to walk into the inevitable 3 ice showers in the doorway just seems kind of pointless. Encourages people to just stand outside and shoot in. Overall I think the changes dicussed in the video are all very positive for the game

A solution to 5 con players is to make each weapon scale 100% on the attributes it's assigned, BUT ONLY ONE (whichever is higher). With diminishing returns in single stat scaling, people will opt for con after 350. And then we can mix & match sns, hatch, gs & spear for double melee without serious damage dropoff on say, pure dex hatch or str spear, now that split-stat is being abused by the 5 con crowd going 500 offensive attribute (str/dex) like musket did for so long.

the 150 dex change is an absolute garbage balance decision. You can't have a stam advantage, be a ranged class, and have the same damage output as melee weapons (that is literally how the bow is currently being balanced). The 150 dex change will kill the majority of light melee builds and hatchet will be dead in all melee builds and only relegated to being used to run away for bows. If the 150 dex is OP it should be removed for everyone not just melee users, as its actually more important that melee users have a stam advantage over ranged because they have to use their stamina to both engage and disengage versus ranged only need it to disengage. Another option would be to instead swap 150 dex with 250 dex; which will allow some light melee builds to still meet their attribute thresholds and not lose too much damage while not allowing the medium disruptor (sns/spear GS/Sns GS/GA) builds access to the reduced dodge perk.

It's a terrible change lmao, it's just another indirect buff to bow. Now as a melee assassin you will have to go 300dex 65str so you do less damage just to be able to keep up with bows. Meanwhile bow will still continue to do the same damage it's been doing
