Hey Guys! So because so many new and returning players have been asking me questions about things in the game I normally no longer cover in guides, I thought it might be time with fresh start servers dropping to get simple, and make a back to basics guide mini series covering some of the things vet players tend to take for granted as public knowledge, because so much has really changed over time.

Basic guides like this one are the best! I bet many of us learned something from it and can help new players a lot. I'd love to see one on how to lvl up refining faster, how to lvl up expertise faster, what to do after hitting 60, etc. Thanks for always sharing amazing tips and guides.

Thank you for making this exhaustive guide. Your work is very appreciated. As you pointed out in your video, to maximize your returns on time spent mining there are many step you will need to consider. I find that gathering materials in New World can be quite fun. I only wish one did not need to be so deliberate in their efforts. For me having to go through all these step in order to maximize yields takes some of the fun out of playing. I only wish that one could learn these perks and make them a more permanent part of their character, thus allowing you to engage in multiple different gathering activities at once without having to prioritize one over the other.

they are transfer locked until further notice yes, so likely when they die they will get merged and yes nov 2

Hi, first of all thank you for all the guides you made in the past. I started on a fresh server and mentioned that there are some changes on the map. For me it looks like that the maps like mapgenie or newworld map does not cover these changes. Did you figured out the same? E.g. hemps and iron ores are not longer on the same places like in windsward/monarchs.

at 2:00 when you say to upgrade the mining pick at a certain level do you mean your characters level or the mining profession level? (ie: my character is level 34 so should i go straight for the starmetal pick or do i need to go from iron to steel, etc?)

Mine boulders. Essentially zero down time. Keep the stone & level stonecutting or drop the stone & continue mining.

With the changed to crafting/questing progression, is faction gear still worth grinding out early on or is that skippable until later/used to supplement missing pieces.

Finally someone who is teaching the basics so many filler vids from launch on these topics. Personally having trouble on figuring out how to level trade skills as well as get the better tools in the early stages in an efficient manner. Early bags are also difficult. Mat farming as well ( How does someone even farm like 5-10k iron just timesink) Maybe just save mat farming until lvl 60 it just seems better too do mat farming while slow leveling. Heck maybe even just level off of gathering and trade skills idk. I dont really understand the deeper level of what trade skills to start with or the pathing of them so many options (Make a main skill or work through all at the same time)

Is the Aeternum Map legal? It asks you to login with steam and ask for live status. Do I login with steam or do not login with steam and just use it for route creation? And do you have recommend any public routes for Fresh Start servers?

it is perfectly legal, and you are not forced to login, but I have for almost a year without issue

Thank you. But I didn't understand why Is why they launching fresh servers not in day of a game patch coming. They told firstly that will be no fresh servers, I lvlup 60 on new servers with transfer. My friends will be starting on fresh. It's so stupid idea from amazon. And now I need to start again, because firstly a wanted fresh servers, but they disinform players.

Wouldn't just farming rocks be faster to level mining to 100, given how contested even iron will be on the new start server?

With the spawn times on iron I have never found it too contested to farm, but sure if it became a problem rocks might work, but it would be slow
