the story is so anticlimatic, no cutscenes, no real tension, its just loredump of text and then it ends up in edengrove with a super overtuned boss that then take u to shattered mountain and says "hey wasnt all that fun eh, main story complete"

Eh yes and no. I personally dont mind the no cutscenes but I can get the sadness behind not having it. I personally enjoyed the story. Also important to recognize that this is clearly not the actual end of the main story but just this chapter with the climax being the stormwall going down!

Resurrection in New World is not certain. Each time someone gets resurrected they lose a bit of their soul. Sadly there isn't a mechanic in game for the player, but that's how it works in the lore. Eventually, you lose enough or lose the willpower to come back and become a Lost

So I know this is like 2 years too late but I started playing right before the expansion. I did everything you said up to thorpe in the depths. I never finished the campaign because I was one of the lucky ones who chose the streamer server in my region (sarcasm) and I couldn’t get on my character every night. So I started a fresh character. I’m level 51 with them now, and my MSQ was completely different! I did my second soul trial to fight that tentacle monster Thorpe summons but after that, it sent me to Eden grove. I never had to go back to weavers fen, or go to the depths up north. Now it’s got me in an area that’s level 61 and I’m only 51 lmao. Is there more than one story?

@@RedlafGaming I know, the first sentence I wrote was I know I’m two years late, but the MSQ was mostly added to the end of the original campaign….. was the depths not part of the original campaign?

It was just a brief part though, you went up to the area, met some peeps, went into the depths, and then dipped. They've reworked the MSQ a TON since this video so it is prob a bit outdated

@@RedlafGaming yea they must have changed it again after the expansion because my last character never even went to one of the towns yet, but I completed the depths, and on this character I’m in that town (I think Eden?) fighting the dryads but haven’t done the depths. I beat that tentacle boss that you do right before Thorpe but they haven’t sent me to Thorpe yet and I’m severely underpowered

They completely changed the story since then, the depths is a voluntary expedition now and u end up killing thorpe outside of depths in the new MSQ@@PoohOnYourShoe

I got back into new world and really enjoyed the brimstones sands storyline. however, tbh i burned out on the game and don't have much interest in covering it anymore. Maybe in the future things change but as of now I wouldnt wait on it

Honestly that was kinda generic... like really generic. But hey, I guess this game wasn't meant for the story anyways.
