Who is the Strongest Enemy in Skyrim?

Most characters and enemies level with you, although only up to a point. Other enemies actually have and maintain their levels regardless of how powerful you are. So with all of these things in mind, who is the strongest you can find in this game?
I have compiled 3 different lists to answer this question. The first one is a list of the strongest non uniques non dragon leveled enemies you can find. This list is not literal, as a lot of vampires would be stronger than even the strongest bandits. So i tried to make it so that i could add as many cool different variations of enemies as i could find.
Because of this the first list is not authorative at all, but just a list I thought would be fun to create; and is merely a list of honorable mentions.
The second list is of the literal strongest enemies you will find in the game, unique or not. And this one is in fact literal. We will talk about difficulty for these enemies, their levels, their hp, their abilities, and everything else that is pertinent to answer the question.
The last list is for followers and we will answer which follower is the strongest in the game; and if you were to fight them, which one would pose the greater threat to you.
For those of you who don't understand how the leveling system works for enemies, is as follows: Enemies like draugrs for example who level with you will wait until you reach a threshold level. As soon as you reach that level, the game will start throwing newer and stronger versions of draugrs against you. Then as soon as you reach the next threshold, it will do so again. Until you reach the Draugr Death Overlord who is the last. This won't stop the game from sending you lesser draugrs, but merely makes it so that you can encounter stronger ones randomly.
Unique enemies that scale to your level on the other hand, usually have a level multiplier that follows your level. So whatever your level is, you would multiply that with an arbitrary number like 1.2 or 1.5 and the result would be the level of the enemy. That number of course changes depending on the enemy.
Followers will always be your level, regardless of anything; up until their designated max level. After that, then they stagnate.

Craft several doses of lingering damage magicka poison. If you keep dosing him with it, he runs out of magicka quickly and can't regen it. Once the flesh spell he casts at the beginning of the fight wears off, he can't recast it. Without destruction or flesh spells, you are fighting an old man in a robe with a dagger.

You can effectively beat skyrims level scaling by leveling up smithing and improving weapons to legendary. By doing this I had dragonbane with a base damage of 148 by level 32 two hits was enough to take away all of miraaks health each time he regenerated.

Agreed. You dont really even need the resto glitch to make broken enchantments, simply with 100 ench, smith, and alchemy you can simply make 1 fortify smithing or enchant potion and use more ‘legit’ items and still be ridiculously OP.

This is the way for sure, I always either max out my crafting skills first or go straight for being a werewolf or elite vampire. Typically do crafting though, sometimes I can’t be bothered with the sun sensitivity or randomly turning into a werewolf and having everyone chase me. after getting my ass handed to me by the Ebony Warrior a few times i decided on a different tactic. i used the Ice Shout to freeze his ass, walk up and hack at him until the Shout times out, and try to find a spot to take pot shots with a bow. of course, i had Serena with me. i recommend giving her Destruction enchanted gear at some point. this battle was one reason. in the end, the Ebony Warrior was killed.

So this is how I "fought" him at a lower level on Adept (I rarely play on anything less than medium difficulty): 100 smithing (all perks), enchanting & archery (plus bonuses used to improve smithing and enchant effects). Follower + pet + fire atronach to distract (a little bit at least). Improved Enhanced Dwarven Crossbow. Lots of stamina potions for running away. Lots of health potions for healing. Full set of Improved Daedric Armour (and ring + necklace) with enchantments to improve ranged damage & magic resist, or HP when the others couldn't be added.

I just fought them in my second play through of dawnguard, I just summoned Durnehivr and kept shooting dem bitches with my bow, it was a piece of cake on master difficulty and a combat mod. I did have Vilkas as my tank/ sceloang the dawguard dog/ and serana but only serana could shoot them with her magic, vilkas and sce would just tank them when they are on the ground ( I use a follower mod if you wonder how I have more than one ) but yeah it was pretty easy on Master

@@garrettsalyer9069 Yes, you're right. Spells feel weak and stamina gets depleted really quick. Therefore tons of self brewed potions is a must to have in your backpack. But even the master spells feel imbalanced, too much mana without enough damage. Luckily I was a conjuring mage. One essential follower + 2 spawned creatures (Twin Souls) were pretty awesome. Sanguine Rose with a dremora lord came in handy too. Still, as a warrior it felt like a walk in the park in my next playthrough..

First time I met Karstaag was on a run in which I went straight to Solstheim from Helgen. On the way I found a fork and a knife which I cleared the entire Solstheim with, including Karstaag. Needless to say, I was stuck on that for a while, took like 4 hours to kill him. I've found two forks and two knives in Skyrim that let you improve them with smithing and that have one-handed skill applied to them. The decapitation animations are pretty funny.. The damage on that fork ended up around 250. The weight was 0 so it was a very quick weapon, faster than any dagger.

Guy Cockitt I can't exactly remember where it is, but there a dragon (wvern) sitting on top of a tower. Mehrunes razor, even at higher levels, won't do the trick. so you just have to poison the blade. It jumps into the air and does a nose dive into the dirt. It's funny.

With legendary, just like with any other difficulty level, although trickier, the only difficult part is the initial one, till level 20-30. From then on, you just need to be a bit careful, but the tendency is for things to become boringly easy. (Level 90, legendary, without having died once, third playthrough, underestimated a couple of volkyr-vampires once and almost died, but the AI is disappointing, since it is only related to damage) Game too easy, even on legendary. And radiant quests suck ass. Once you visisted all dungeons the fun is over. Better go for 2nd Witcher 3 walkthrough I suppose.

I Think this progression system is shit. Because of it, places and npc enemies do not have importance. When you level up, enemies you already know get a bit stronger until you get a new enemy version. You could go to the harshest of places at level 1 and only find wolves and bears. That's way too stupid. I remember in Oblivion when you do the siege of Kvatch quest, if you are low level you get freaking scamps (to invade a city FFS!). But if you leave the main quest until you get a high level, then you encounter Daedroths and Storm Atronachs. There is no consistency at all. Even freaking bandits leave good shit when you get to the higher levels. Which secret vault did those mofos raid to get ahold of glass or daedric apparel? I do not know. And the most important shit of all. You get stronger with time, but enemies level up as you do, so shitty enemies last longer, and chunky and tanky enemies become a chore to defeat. That takes away the unique feeling of progression and the satisfaction that your char is getting super powerful and experienced. This system has a lot of flaws. I don't want to find a daedric claymore in a random cave from a random bandit. It's not epic, its has that MMO style that makes everything quite impersonal. End of rant. PD: Nice video, Rhexx!

Well in Fallout 2 (guiding myself by your pic), you could get some really good loot if you know how. You can also finish the game in less tan 20 mins! ¿Is it less of a masterpiece? No. It's just a way to simulate the real world. The harsh real world, paired with tons of fun. Both systems has their merits and flaws if you like. But if you start to think about the autoleveling of loot and enemies... it does not add up. Only players who want a fun but shallow enviroment, will dig these type of system (Skyrim's) to its fullest.

Depends how you personally weigh and value the elements that go into a game. For example, deep rich lore and compelling world-building is what I personally value the most in a game, which is why I would have to say Morrowind is a better game than Skyrim. Sure, Morrowind's graphics are garbage by today's standards, the combat mechanics are god awful, and there's a few major issues with other game mechanics that can sometimes break the game. But, because it has such a detailed political, social, and religious environment, involves all of those unique elements into it's story, and adds a dash of unreliable narrator, it shoots far above Skyrim in my eyes. It feels like more real of a world. You HAVE to be good at the skills of your guild in order to join and advance the rungs of said guild. You sometimes HAVE to pick sides between factions because they might be opposed with one another, and advancing in one will force you to forfeit your rank at the other (fighter's and thieves' guilds being at odds, great houses, etc). You have to ask directions to places because you're not a mystical GPS with automatic waypoint. But, if you love decent combat, epic vistas, stunning scenery, fun gameplay mechanics, and enjoyable non-tedious dungeon delves, then Skyrim is definitely way up there.

That only works if you've enough hp to take one hit. If you're a veteran player like mé, completing Alduin or Miraak on Legendary difficulty at say lvl 7-10, you can bé killed on one shot. Just completed Sovngarde at lvl 6. I had never increased my hp, so only 100!

i really never understood the stingyness of levelled loot in skyrim... considering the differences between iron - dragonbone arent actually that big early on ( iron sword does 8dmg dragonbone does 16) they really could've given you better loot earlier. would've made the game a lot more fun. Especially considering you have to grind out smithing to get the OP weapon stats anyway, and once you have good smithing you can make the weapons yourself it doesnt make sense why they're locked out of loot pools til so late. Getting a daedric sword at the start of the game compared to an iron one is only actually a difference of 6 damage. And a daedric sword with maximum perks and one handed skill will only actually do around 30-40 damage, its not until your crafting skills are boosted that you see damage levels of 500. Would've made the game much more interesting. Or on the flip side, keep the levelled loot the same and instead add variation to the quality and increase odds of enchanted gear on weapons. Would make looting that 50th bandit more interesting since he could be wielding an equisite or even flawless steel sword of ice which would be an improvement to your current steel sword, but not so much of an improvement it would make you stupidly powerful. Just one of the many reasons this game, while fun, feels lacking in some areas.
