I feel like heavy isn't bad in pvp if you know how to make yourself an enemy priority. Like baiting with a "bad" position, using a round shield cosmetic on a tower shield to bait, or something like that. What make heavy armor look bad in pvp is when you have an ally that's too high priority (light healer) and you can't peel because you can't keep up with them or the enemy light rolls.

Great vid as always. I've taken a break from New World as being only 600 is rough trying to be a tank on top of Greatsword being pretty oppressive. I've gone back to For Honor, but apparently conq received a rework and now he's nothing like he used to be. Sad days.

Yeah that's main reason why I couldn't go back to For Honor. They destroyed the main tank character and converted him to a vanguard/assassin. His playstyle was meant for tanking and that isn't for everyone. But ppl got annoyed that the only tank character was not accessible to their idea of a fun playstyle and thus we now have a warden with a shield.

I have a hard time reading the forums, heavy sucks, it doesn't do anything in pvp, you have to use light etc. and then you see a new Atlas video again and you're like, what do people want?? I also played SnS/ WH for a very, very long time and then switched to easy through a friend.....it's not nearly as much fun as in heavy...whereby I played 300 str / 200 con. For me Atlas is the best PvPler out there or on KZbin

Amazing video keep upload , everyone say you cannot play tank on PVP . What is your opinion current state of tank on PVP is it need buff or its playable ?

It's playable. It always has been. But ppl expect to play like a bruiser when playing tank. You have play like a tank in order to be a good tank. Ppl get annoyed when the enemy gets low and starts running away, so they chase them and up dying because tanks aren't supposed to chase. I simply change my focus to either the other enemy or their wall, and guess what? The low health dude starts running back to you, and you drop the world on him to kill him once he gets close. It's all about patience. It's a long fight. Not many like the slow pace of tank fights. But you have to out last them. Everyone will make mistakes if they are fighting long enough. Tanks capitalize on them to 1vX.

@@KingSamaec I recommend using the same weapons and armour you want to use at end game. Practicing combos and set ups start during the leveling process in PVE. Then it's refined in pvp end game.

If you have one of the new empowered gems (does dot dmg) and you have fortifying shield rush, you immediately get two stacks of fortify on hit and a 3rd about a second later when the dot ticks.

Thanks! You have to close the distance with shield. If the attack, they are rooted in place You can move fast while blocking so you end up getting closer and closer. Use path of destiny to slow them down, and light attacks to force them to waste their dodges. Once out of Stam, Shockwave into clear out into shield bash into back stab heavy attack. Most won't survive 2 of those combos.

Hey atlas not sure if you check these old vids for comments but i was curious man, i see you use as much aversion as you can get but you mentioned in a comment below that BiS was resi refresh and freedom. I see some refreshing but i dont see freedom anywhere. Can you explain why you chose the perks you did over the BiS perks you mentioned?

Hey man👋 . Aversion is always 2nd to resilience. Freedom and refreshing are both good. Freedom is better than refreshing but you should never wear Freedom without at least 3 pieces. If you can't get 3 pieces with it, go with refreshing

600 overall GS with 40 con food. That will give you 500 total. 625 will give you 511

I'm a very new tank, wanting to be something other than the regular bow/secondary build. I want to be a tank to help out the long standing issue about the lacking of tanks in New World. I can tank the damage in 1vX situations but I cannot deal the damage that you can, it takes me like 10 hits to kill one person with WH. Do you have any tips to deal more damage as a tank? I try to follow your build word for word, 300 con, 200 strength etc. I'm not 625 GS yet, I'm currently around 610 GS.

It's all in the combos. You have to set up the CC to finish them

Shriking fort not worth it because you will not be dodging too much Top three perks resilience, freedom, refreshing

I noticed you no longer have fortified shield rush on chest, does it not stay on when switching weapons so you only use it on shield now?

I have it on weapon because it no longer procs off attunement. Before one hit would give us 40% so it would be wasted on the shield. Now that it's been nerfed, we need it on the shield for more fortify

Ring is from Lazarus first boss. Earing is from genesis first boss. The rest is from TP I bought. You have to look everyday and you will find it

I think you need to purchase a house in a town that has the "hearty" buff active. It will give you 10% max health

@@YouBetterGetCookiez yeah man keep it up! The combos are the main way to dps. It's one of the reasons I went with WH instead of GS. With WH the gear doesn't matter nearly as much. The attributes don't matter as much. But the set up and combos will allow you to pull some crazy plays

All you need is resilience and the weapon perks. Then as many aversion pieces as you can get. I will make a video about how to get the items but mainly just buying off TP

I have copied this build as much as possible on fresh start servers, but I seem to be having a rough time against greatswords. I either don't damage enough or just get run down by them. How do you deal with them if they're good players?

GS is a tough battle, for Offensive stance its important to block on SNS till you can CC them, then go into the full Atlas Combo. They are squishy so saving up for the full combo is important. Only trade with them if you have defiant stance + shield fortify active. Remember you can heavy attack on SNS to remove plagued debuff to support your healing. Give this a try and let me know how it goes.

Good question and im glad other viewers are sharing thier knowledge here as well. I may make a video explaining WH dps. You really don't need all that much strength. As others have said the dmg comes from passives in WH tree, attributes, gems, backstabs. Etc.

As tank he doesnt use dodge too much cause stamina is used for blocking. Ele/phy aversion instead help him to survive when atacked by ranged ppl.
