New World has just released a spicy new Public test realm and the new void gauntlet for testing, this is a DPS\Support hybrid weapon. The Void Gauntlet stacks with Intelligence and Focus and is a Ranged weapon with some melee abilities, namely the Vorpal Blade. This weapon has a very cool feel about it!

It's quite original, i have many questions though; -how important is INT for the gauntlet? -which effects remain if you switch to your other weapon, like Oblivion for example? -Is it correct that you can't be in melee mode permanently? good overview thanks

Int is the void G primary Stat so it's very important for scaling. I'd have to check with what affects remain. Correct, melee mode only last 12 seconds. But CD reductions and whatnot you might be able to get the skill available pretty often.

I think the focus scaling is great. We needed another weapon that scaled with focus.

Just tested, essence rupture is still applies. Tether drops as soon as you switch.

If anyone is wondering as a life staff healer, if you are using VG instead of a hatchet you are seriously hindering your character. Vg is the most lackluster weapon I've ever seen. And splitting intellect and focus cripples your character.

1:12 It's the duration bugger or...? The skill description states "15s duration" 0:49 little mistake on your part as you said stamina instead of mana, but can be misleading. 1:40 Oblivion damage is good enough on its own, but the main part is that it buffs you and all allies damage by 20%. That's very important. It may also buff the skill dmg itself if you're standing in it? Finally, this is yet another video without properly showing the light and heavy attack. Given how much we use these in New World I wonder why it's so often forgoten :-D Anyway, thanks for sharing and also answering viewer questions.

the problem with the voidstaff is that is way cooler than the other weapons available in the game. i wonder if a rework of the effects and some abilities overall will come someday in the future.

tbh he is right. im lvl 60 over 600h ingame everyone is running in heavy armor+ lifestaff and Axe. they should focus on bugfixes and balancing. and not new weapon and enemys ngl. and even if they really wanna do add something then not WEAPONS....maybe new Areas/MSQ/Dungeons? so that IDIOT outpostrush isnt the only endgame in this MMO ???? or stupidly running chests over and over and over again ? and if you really think about it they wanted this game to be Pvp only. and if we look at it that way this game is way to broke and unbalance.
