There's significant physical hurdles to getting large fields of view on VR/AR devices, given that we as Humans have an EXCEPTIONALLY large field of view ourselves, roughly 210 degrees. It'll be interesting to see how these challenges are overcome as the technology advances. :B
@Angultra5 сағат бұрын
Quest 3 is 110°, best I've tried. Increased FOV needs more resolution, so bumping up immersion will take a lot more horsepower than we have currently. In a few years it'll be even more mind blowing, I'm excited for where it's headed.

Hello, I want to know if I were to use these while walking in public, would people see the projection that I see? Like how the footage looks like it's captured in your videos and XReal's ads? I'm curious if that's the case because that would be a major selling point but I don't want to spend $499 just to find out.

Does watching 3D video switch what you see to just the video or is it the same as gaming where it looks like it's on a screen in space?
@MetalJesusRocks21 сағат бұрын
It's full 3D with those format of movies. You can see in that footage on my laptop in the video that it breaks the 3D into left and right eyes. Very impressive.

I wish standalone VR headsets are like this too. Off-load the processing and battery to an external device to make it light. Just leave the processor for the sensors internal if it will introduce unwanted latency if they're external. This will also make the battery easier to replace/repair, not to mention less heat within the headset.

They do not work out of the box with the Switch. The problem with the Switch is that in handheld mode it doesn’t do video out over USB-C. It needs to be docked. Hopefully Nintendo will change that with the Switch 2.
