Write. Create the art that’s been burning inside you, waiting to burst. Dive deep to let the journey come to life and materialize before your eyes. Don’t let the opportunity be lost - seize the chance, work hard, and love that you’re able to do what you’ve always wanted in the first place. To write.

Won a sci fi writing contest in high school, ignored it, went to school for psychology. English professors told me I should change majors. Ignored it, went on to get an advanced degree in psychology. Now practicing 3 years, watching that passion arise again, I can’t ignore it anymore. I listened to everyone but myself. It’s time to listen.

Over the past few years, I have learned and grown so much, and I'm glad I didn't give up. So, even if people don't think you can do it don't listen to them. Because you can and you will have such a good time doing so.

I lost myself and somehow you brought me back. I’ve never forgotten “you can’t edit a blank page” - Abbie Emmons I stopped believing in what I want to share because I was afraid I’d disappoint or annoy others if I made mistakes. Those words of yours though, they are a part of me now and you reminded me, even though I will make mistakes: I am strong because of what has led me here I am capable because I am willing to try again and I will not give up.

As a 15 year old aspiring author, this is very motivating. Recently I’ve had no motivation for my fantasy book I’m writing. I started 3 years ago, a very rough story, that I’ve transformed. I dropped it for about a year and a half but slowly picked it back up. It was my first real book. When I completed the first whole draft (abt 100 pages when I was still 12) it was when I knew I wanted to be an author. I loved it. But I read a lot, and I look at these amazing books and think I can never be that good. These people know what they’re doing. I don’t. Im just some 15 year old who thinks she can be something. That first draft I made is my first “completed draft” for any of my books. None of my others are finished. And I haven’t picked them up in over a year. I’ve been working on this one, and I’m nearing 80 edited pages (which is a lot to me). My parents told me they would get me an illustrator and publisher if I can finish it by the end of summer. They believe in me, but I don’t believe in myself. My writing’s not even that good. My parents are friends say it is. But it just seems off to me. But this will be my first published book if I can stay strong and get the motivation to finish. But I want to enjoy myself writing. “That’s why quitters never win. Because they don’t believe they can win.” thank you for this ❤

Usually, I don't care much for stereotypical motivational talks, but Abbie, yours always make me so motivated. I think I really needed to hear that I can be the main character of my own life because I am pursuing MY dreams, not someone else's. Thank you!

"I strive for progress, not perfection." Great quote. In writing my novel, I've been getting overwhelmed by all the "rules" of proper writing . Sometimes it makes me feel inferior and that I'll just never get it. But your quote helped remind me that writing isn't about perfection. It's about telling a story and improving as you go and learn. Thanks Abbie. :)

I sent a poem to five magazines few months ago. It wasn't published. They didn't even tell me why. I felt so demotivated and dejected that... I gave up. I haven't written a single poem since. I tried writing novels instead. Halfway through my first draft, I doubted it. I doubted myself and my abilities. I didn't know what to do. And then... I saw the notification of this video. This video is so motivational... I am all set to climb the mountain of my dreams now. And this time... I won't give up. Thanks, Ms. Abbie

This is Your mountain. You created it- it originated deep within you. Do not doubt your ability to climb it- you ached for it in the depths of your being. No one is better equipped to climb this mountain than you, and no one else can climb it because it is Yours. Don't abandon it. Take a step. And when that mountain pushes you down, know it's testing you, because it knows you have the strength within you get up. This is your mountain. Climb it. And once you get to the top, don't be surprised if, right by your feet, another peak begins to merge. Because life isn't about "being at the top". It's about getting to the top, your own unique top, and climbing once again

That gave me chills. I need the motivation to keep on pursuing my dreams of being a young novelist and author. I’m only 14 years old, and I’ve always told myself that I will never be good enough or capable enough, at least, not at this age. I’ve always struggled with brainstorming my own, creative ideas, and then elaborating on it on the page. I’ve been working on the pre-write for almost 1 1/2 months, and I’m nowhere near done. You inspire me to keep going, even when I feel like I’m getting nowhere. I thank you for everything you’ve taught and told us, because without you, I doubt I would’ve ever even had the courage to get on the computer and start my story. Thank you for helping me work towards my dream.

This reminds me of that one motivational video that was popular a few years back. I believe Nike may have used the same speech in that video for one of their promotional campaigns; but, I never could find the author of it. This of course didn't stop me from transcribing and renaming it as The Destiny's Greatness. Listening to Abbie's motivational video here, I was reminded of that prior one. There are two points from it which resonate with Abbie's. The first, known to actually be an African proverb: "If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside can do no harm." The second, "When life knocks you down, try to land on your back. Because if you can look up, you can get up." Abbie, thanks for sharing your passion in this manner. You gave me chicken skin, girl. Lol. It's not that your motivation has reminded me of my roots, but it is a breath of fresh air which sustains them. Your passion serves you well, as it does others. Thank you. If you (or anyone else) would like to read my transcription, let me know. I can share a link.

Found your channel in August 2021. I am shocked to what you've done to me. You are amazing....just mind-blowing. I am a young writer and I love, love and love your channel. You have made the illusion (which was just a faded illusion back then) of my dream turn to reality.

I beat NaNoWriMo. It got me invested I my story, but I hit a narrative roadblock which demotivated me and I haven't touched my story I weeks. I always had a rough idea of what was going to happen in my story, so I was just pansting along all November. It made me realize I should plot more and build around that framework if I ever want to publish the darn thing.
