There is nothing mysterious about Kharn! probably one of the most well known characters because of the sheer body count this legend has acheived.

@@MediocreHobbies He's Khornes favourite mortal, Khorne sits on a throne atop all the skulls reaped in his name from all his devout servants and it's said that Kharn has his own pile of skulls next to it not too far off, Kharn has killed more people than entire chapters of space marines have, some say even legions. For this Khorne will not let Kharn die.

Kharn is an incredibly cool looking model. I'm liking the way this one turned out. I'm guessing the Eavy Metal team grabbed the wrong paint while doing the new ones, because those pictures indeed don't look like Khorne Red. Fun detail: Kharn is Farsi for Betrayer. So the guys name is actually Betrayer the Betrayer. Did seriously nobody in the Imperium think this guy wasn't gonna turn against them?

For my new year new army, i really would like to do 2 opposing forces, im thinking khorne demons vs farsight enclave tau, matching icy blue bases, to go with my winter playmat. So the gold/brass is simply Retributor Armor + Berserker Bloodshade ? It looks really good ! I feel that Retributor Armor by itself is too bright but Balthasar Gold is too dark even with brighter layers on top. Retributor Armor with that red shade looks really good.

@@MediocreHobbies Yes I saw the subsequent hightlighting after the shading. Still I am suprised how good the gold came out simply after the shade. I feel it's the right spot between gold and bronze/brass. I think the same look can be acheived with Balthasar but it is more work. I have painted 40 Rubric Marines and 10 Scarrab Occult Terminators and I always started with a spray can pass of retributor gold. I think I might do the same thing with new Khorne Bersekers.

Only just getting into Warhammer but why the primer with black and then grey seer?

It’s a full coat of black and then a lighter coat of grey seer from above. The lighter coat gives contrast paint something to grip on to and also adds some light/shadow to help painting at the start! Hope that makes sense?
