I remember being really inspired by you when I was like 11 (I’m almost 15 now) and I remember the first dozen or so chapters of ‘my Nextdoor neighbors’ and now you’re married and loads of other stuff it just feels like it’s been so long. Looks so cool, omg!!! Just remember, with hair- let it be a little messy when it comes to tiny, tiny strands and fly aways. It'll give the hair more movement and more to work with outside of the lineart. What I like to do, is when I'm flat coloring the hair (or even drawing the lineart) I'll draw tiny thin lines next to a flowy piece of hair that often joins back into the hair at the end of it. Or, little lines that represent tiny flyaways. Not a ton, makes the hair look a bit too messy, but enough to add some variety and make the lineart less of a cage and more of a guide for the hair flow. And of course, playing around with the lineart color etc is always fun! But seriously, I love watching videos like these, they really inspire me to do studies of my own and improve ❤

Another way you could switch up your art style is that you could try different face shapes, lips, noses, and body types! Of course your art is just meant to please you, but you might be surprised by the end result. I did this with my art and realized just how fun it is! Also I really loved the shiny eyes at the end of the video, it's very pretty to look at.

EYYYYY WELCOME BACK! Gotta say this gives me motivation to try and learn drawing again. School has been kicking my a$$ (more than ever since I just started uni), and finding time and motivation to draw has been so sooo hard. It feels like I have to pick and choose among my interests and there’s only so much free time that drawing just ends up getting pushed into a dark corner, while I lay down and just scroll on my phone or play games because my brain can’t handle another thing that’s complicated and hard to understand. I’ve learned a lot from you and you’ve always been such a sweet, loving, and caring person. Thank you for making our lives better. I’ll take it slow and try to not be so hard on myself

The changes definetly make it look a lot nicer. I will add, something that might work for the eyes is making the shadow have a bit of the eye color, you of course don't have to add it, but I thought to just bring it up ^^

When I heard you say that you would be trying to learn more, I thought you were crazy for a moment, because your art was beautiful before. But looking between the two images at the end, you can see such a difference your study made, even if it's just in the small details! Yes! Push those design choices! Hair and eyes are my favorite focus points, the improved hair has a lot of points that I also focus on. My only suggestion is maybe push your darks a little darker in your most shadowed points to get the depth you're looking for.

This makes me wanna continue working on an animation im doing (it’s for a friend’s fanfic) but ‘Omori’ is a game where you must reach certain areas to save so I must get to one of those places, this also makes me wanna make an illustration but again ‘Omori’ is a game where you must reach certain areas to save so I must get to one of those places… I JUST WANNA REVAMP MY ART STYLE NOW D: Edit: okay I’ve saved and before I start animating I still have work to do (I have to make their characters in my style because they add a decent amount of accessories and that’s great and I can do that for illustrations but I cannot do that because animation, along with that our styles are generally different because despite both of us using Gacha they use a mod of Gacha Club and I use Gacha Life 2 I tend to make my characters less detailed and also they don’t draw and instead edit Gacha characters and I do edit Gacha characters but tend to default to drawing, but with my not edited characters in my illustration style I tend to get detail with rendering and line art instead of accessories) so I will work on all of that stuff! Wow, the thing that instantly strikes me is that both the hair and the eyes have far more depth. I don't know if I'm expressing the difference I'm seeing but it's definitely a big difference. Your over all style is still recognizable, but there's a dimension the newer style has that makes the other seem flat. Not that the old style wasn't fantastic, I really enjoyed it but this difference is kind of like the difference between old school cell shaded animation and computer enhanced cell animation. I would be willing to guess the trade off, as you said, is time. I'm sure that will lessen as you continue to progress. I'm so glad to hear too you're drawing for yourself. Creating for yourself is a lovely way to practice and encourage self-care. I'm going to try and write for myself this year too.

I like it! It's nice I noticed something was a little different. I do have a little bit of critique I like the little details in the rendering I feel like perhaps there could be a little bit more contrast like darker shadows, this way the highlights will look even more shiny and stand out. That's all, it's really good.
