Not that it’s what you’re saying, but this idea that the market has all this new stuff happening is crazy… it’s really a case of things getting back to normal. Collectibles are never supposed to have an immediate turn around. You’re supposed to have to wait years for values to rise. It’s all backwards

I got the world staff promo for 2017 because it was a cool theme representing alola. Glad I got it before it exploded in price but also wish I got the 2018 one as well.

The big guns like the Ponchos, Marios and Screams have been immune to the weakness up until now. But I have a hunch they are starting to weaken too. Not crash, but a slow grind down. If so Ill really start to worry about my overall collections value and liquidity.

Large Whatnot sellers routinely sell cards in live sudden death auctions above comp. This phenomenon coupled with pull games and whatever gimmicks or games currently on that platform has resulted in large buy ups of affordable cards. These sales arent reflected in market data bases at all but make up the vast majority of pokemon card sales on the secondary market.

@@Mrtzny I could be wrong but the platform has something like 70k Pokemon Streamers. For a quick sample search pokemon in users and you'll get 3k users with pokemon in their name, and some easily with 100k in sales.

I always learn something when I watch your videos. I feel the same way as far as gold stars, crystals, shinings… great points. Everyone knows what everything is valued at this point in turn making things very competitive. Just like the real estate market. One grail goes for your list price and the same one to replace it pops up and sells for even more making re entry very difficult if you haven’t acquired these cards before 2016-2020. Informative from a veteran standpoint. Thanks! 🙏🏼
