Happy New Year. I love the idea of more mindful sewing, more complex projects, that’s what I’m aiming for this year. I would recommend a weekly update to not over commit yourself, although look forward to frequent updates. I love the cow material, off to vote now ❤

Love the idea around "meatier" makes and my choice of fabric would be the cow fabric. Would also go perfectly with your scarf as well I think

Option 2! The smaller-scale print is perfect for all the patch pockets. They are the most interesting design feature of the view you've chosen and some lighter top-stitching would really set them off. The cow print would be broken up too much by the pockets while at the same time the print would disguise the pockets. However, the cow print would be amazing on the longest view with the welt pockets, where the design gives the large-scale pattern room to shine! So you need to make two, right?

Wow! Just counting up all of the votes is a meaty start to your meaty project! I like both of them but I'm going to vote for the cow print . Black and white matches just about anything. My daughter loves cow print so we both vote for that.

Hi Tamlyn… I made it. I used a beige/ desert cotton twill from OSF ( Our Social Fabric) in Vancouver , BC, Canada…rather heavy weight material❤. It was my “toile”! A very fun make… only my front button holes and buttons outstanding. I did a double line of topstitch.. and absolutely love it! A very fun make for an intermediate sewist. Have fun!

I vote for Smiley Faces! I am currently sewing Spindrift - View A (the long one) in a plaid flannel. There are a lot of details with that view (my first time doing welt pockets!) so I have slowed right down and am taking my time. I’ve enjoyed the process of a more detailed sew!
