I must tell you: I was watching your podcast (which I've done before, but) my daughter looked at the screen and said, "Mom! Boys don't knit, what is he doing?" As I was starting to explain that boys and girls can do whatever they please, my son (also named Jack) ran into the room and yelled, "Oh yeah? Well, I knit and I'm a boy!" He's had a few lessons with me and liked it very much. She replied, "Yeah, you're a kid, that's fine. Just not when you're a grown-up." Jack looked at me with the eyes of a child who's hoping what he's just heard is untrue. I said, "But, look. This man is grown, he knits and he just showed some orange and teal yarns that he really likes." I added that last part because those are my Jack's favorite colors. He fell to the couch with a sigh, still staring at the screen as you continued. "Mom, that guy is awesome." "You think so?" "Yeah, it's like he's me." Thanks for giving me a laugh today. The pure encouragement I witnessed was so sweet.

Hiya - OH MY GOD!! That is the most adorable thing I’ve heard in a long time! Thank you for not only watching, but for helping to bust the stigma surrounding guys knitting. Jack - keep going. Some people will say things that make you think about stopping, but do what YOU want, and that is what’s important. You’re awesome! Thanks again for sharing this, for watching, and for supporting my channel; you’ve made my day!

The shawl looks lovely, you're right they are very hard to show off till they are done but man they make such good scarfs. It is wonderful to see you podcasting again even if you are in the same boat that I am on the length of a sweater. J

Welcome back, happy 2023! At the moment, I'm crocheting scrubies for charity, and I'm knitting a sweater for my grandson. I have other WIP's too but they are in hibernation.

So glad to see you back, Jack! Thanks for the hat recommendation, Jason’s Cashmere Hat. Although I absolutely love knitting lace patterns, cables are another story. I usually stop considering a pattern if there are cables. Perhaps this hat pattern will get me over whatever hurdle I have regarding knitting them. And I have Croft yarn in my stash just itching to made into something beautiful yet useful. 🙂

Welcome back in this new year, Jack! Great to see you again with your wonderful knitting and fabulous sense of humor! I love the woodland theme that carried through your gifts - yarn in Autumn colors, leaf cut-outs on the sock blockers, woodland animal project keepers! Did everyone plan that or was it pure serendipity? ❤
