Freddie G I am just covered in goose bumps hearing your testimony! Me almost 4 years sober by the grace of God and God only , there I go ! I was a hopeless lost cause but I have a reason and a purpose to never drink a drop because it is the only daily amends I can live out for family and never bring hurt , and shame to them again ! And for my child that suffered an injury that gave him a horrible rare 24/7 pain condition while I was in a black out drunk 5 years ago on Christmas Day , drowning my heart breaks of a divorce that was taking place that should have never happened because it was not God’s plan for me and I met them in a bar ! I’m a 4th generation missionary kid, my family and I work in the country of VENEZUELA South America, and for a while I’ve heard and enjoyed elevation churches messages by pastor Steven furtick. Now, the reason I write today is to prove something, for years I’ve been addicted to many sinful patterns in my life , and I’ve struggled for a while. I’ve made mental patterns that are destructive, I’ve formed a way of thinking that change the perspective of who I am, and today I asked myself the question, who am I, and a wave of thought drowned me with discouragement and regret, but one thing stood out... those aren’t my thoughts, those are the enemies, because I am a child of God. This year has been challenging for me and my family but for 4 generations God hasn’t left my family and he won’t stop now, and now it’s my turn to bat, and I want to do things currently this year, instead of running to places and things and patterns, I’m gonna run to God. I’ve seen him in my family, in my parents, and in my church, I want to see him in me. He has always been with me, but it’s time I stop rejecting him, and start listening, start trusting, start believing again! Man this sermon right here! No sugar coating. Sometimes we are the cause of our own unhappiness and struggles. For a long time I blamed god for allowing certain things to happen to me. Now that I have matured, I realized that a lot of the battles I fought was because I was in places that I shouldn't have been. I even prayed to god to remove me from that place, and he did. When I got better, and healed I went right back to the same thing that hurt me and that I prayed to be delivered from. I had the nerve to blame god for it, but even in my own faults he still delivered me. He never left me and I know he was tired of me complaining about the same thing. lol "God will not strengthen you for a battle that he didn’t call you to fight “ Sometimes I am amazed and could cry when I think about where I was emotionally and mentally and even so God never abandoned me or left me. Once I got a grip of myself I cant tell you how strong and powerful I have become and felt. I feel like everything i have ever wanted I am finally getting and I noticed it happening when I stopped returning that phone call and text like pastor Furtick said. I am truly not worthy, but it just goes to show you that God is always with you and loves you no matter what. Again I am not worthy for any of the countless blessings that he is STILL pouring out to me. Things that I didn't think I was good enough for or even qualified for.
