Do you think they will do a good NYE and possibly fireworks? Haha. It's due to leave rotherdam around 9pm if they leave on time! Heard they can hang on a bit later some times! Thanks in advance

We spent New Years 2022 on the Meraviglia in the Caribbean. What a party out on the pool deck that was, something we as a family will never ever forget.

Lovely to watch Fraser, camera work flawless, images sharp, as ever pertinent info too. So Diamond Voyagers Club, make sure you use all the perks, speciality restaurant taster menu, priority boarding, and late disembarking, (port dependant), priority for tender ports etc, on the initial Virtuosa cruises we got a (big) chocolate ship, it was disappointing when they reverted to the wee bar! The sparking wine is actually quite good, and the macaroons do keep a day or so. It seemed the ship was a perfect viewing point for the fireworks 🎆 on land !

Hey! Thank you! Indeed, there’s some good perks to the Voyagers Club programme - I also got a dinner at Butcher’s Cut, which was such a nice surprise! I did see the chocolate ships at the chocolatier onboard, and thought they looked excellent! Re the fireworks - I honestly can’t describe how perfect the ship was for viewing them - incredible!

Really enjoying this new series as I am considering Virtuosa later in the year. I tried MSC for the first time on Preziosa last October... also as a solo traveller. So, I am looking with interest to see how a single enjoys the Virtuosa experience.

Ah, see I found this cruise way more formal than a ‘regular’ MSC one due to it being New Year. I’d probably recommend taking a DJ - I always prefer to be the one who’s a bit too smart, rather than the one who’s a bit too casual…!

Thanks all very interesting. We are booked for a Xmas cruise this year on MSC Euribia from Southampton. Never been on MSC before, done Princess, Celebrity etc. I hear the queues on lots of these ships now are happening as less crew it appears !

Ah, Euribia will deliver a fairly similar experience to Virtuosa, I would imagine - I was really impressed! Glad you found the video useful :)

New Years on a cruise ship sounds like a fun time. I've done other holidays (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter) but not that one. I don't usually get nervous about being solo on a cruise ship, there are so many activities scheduled where I can meet people that it doesn't usually come up as a problem. Cruise critic and Facebook group meetups are usually available as well so I don't feel like I'm going to be unable to find someone to hang out with. I think the line having solos at one table is a good idea--I like it when there are events on the schedule listed for solos as well, like some of the lines do.

Hey Sue! Totally agree about CC and Facebook being good for connecting in advance - I only discovered the Facebook route this summer actually, and found it really nice to build excitement for the trip too! I do also really enjoy Easter on a ship - especially when the line gives you lots of chocolate… haha!

Fraser, that was wonderful to listen to, and it sounded like you really are having a good time. They had just set up that Mulled Wine hut and Curling game when we were last on board, and we loved it. We had four mugs of mulled wine each, and loved it - the weather was freezing lol. And the crew are just magnificent, and seem so happy to be working on Virtuosa. One of the guys on the curling game, even came up to me, and asked if I danced a game, if he helped me ( Im blind with guide dog ) , and I had two games, and got best score haha. So they really do look after their guests. very much looking forward to your next vlog, you dirty stop out haha...Terry
