Thousands of people gathered at Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach on Jan. 1 as the city received the New Year with a spectacular fireworks show. The dazzling display illuminated the waters off the famous beach with brilliant colours.

The NYE fireworks in Rio de Janeiro is spectacular. It's 15 min of intense fireworks on a 5km/2mi long beach... It's just MASSIVE. I have seen it many years ago, I would love to be able to go back one day.

I was really surprised how many countries have a similar set up. I watched one last night I had never seen before held in UAE that seemed to have 30 of those firework launching things. And drones. Dubai used to be the best, but now everyone has amazing shows. In fact, so far I think Sydney was the best cause they had the ones in the water plus the bridge show with a waterfall of fire towards the end. I can't tell of I prefer them going off all side by side like this show or spaced out like Sydney. Besides Magic Kingdom at WDW, I don't know anywhere in the US with fireworks as impressive. WDW's Magic Kingdom fireworks show for 2020 was their best show. Though I felt their NYE show was shorter than their nightly show, it had a countdown with numbers and I don't think I seen any of the countries do that. Rio definitely had some shapes as did Sydney and the one in UAE, but Magic Kingdom has been using the most shapes and every night. Plus their music is really cool. The only down side to many fireworks going off at once the whole show, is you can't tell when it's the finale. Finales are the best part 🎉🎉

Everything was beautiful, it's because you can't hear it properly, but the soundtrack was spectacular, it was a live pop orchestra providing the soundtrack, and the ending was to the sound of Coldplay 🤩😍

As someone who was fortunate enough to spend the last two new years events in Copacabana, I have to say it really is something for those that love new years to experience at least once in your life. The only down side is that you need to be careful as there is always some nonsense like pickpocketing or the odd stabbing that happens on the beach as the place can be so damn crowded. Let's hope with all our hearts that 2024 will be better and lets also hope for a more just world.

@@FuturoDeRedpillEhAlcoolismo Quando fui em 2023 metade do grupo quis ir em um show então nós fomos, chegou uma hora que tinha uma multidão enorme ao nosso redor e literalmente não tinha como se mover principalmente carregando um cooler pesado Nesse ano decidimos ir em um lugar mais tranquilo do outro lado da praia, só teve uma multidão na hora dos fogos mas foram embora quando acabou. Também tinha um torre da polícia então foi bem mais tranquilo

Lawless London showed a few minutes fireworks in and around The London Eye, sadly with the fatal stabbing of a 16 yr-old school boy! Rio is rich nature - mountains and ocean islands on the famous Atlantic Ocean Copacabana Beach. Nice, open-hearted people of Rio City - the Cariocas - make it unique!
