They should have gone to Shinjuku, near the city hall building. There were fireworks there.

tbh Yokohama bay is better for new year eve in japan cuz they have fireworks there and its just around 30 mins from tokyo by local train (or 15 mins by shinkansen)

I don’t understand what the police could do if there is a stampede as at Itaewon in 2022. A bullhorn or whistle won’t prevent a panicky crowd from trampling people. The police should limit the number of people in the street.

OMG the crowd is insane and scary.... I will never be able to handle in a sea of human like this lol 😅I was hoping you would do New Year's Eve in Asakusa instead since there are also another countdown crowd/event there & since its something different... and the sky tree also changed color + shows Happy New Year as well when it hits 12AM! but regardless I still appreciate this video so much since I will never want to be in this crowd, so thank you for recording this! 🤩

Foreign tourists flocking to Shibuya without observing Shibuya City ordinances has become a problem. Due to the weak yen, a large number of these foreigners are coming to Japan, and the security situation is worsening. At the very least, I don't want foreign tourists to flock to Tokyo, so I recommend going to tourist destinations with fewer foreign tourists, such as Hagi, Izumo, Uwajima, Wajima, Aomori, and Yubari.

but i love going to tokyo as tourist... i just dont want to stay in shibuya or shinjuku because of the insane crowd & also its noisy, i usually stay in akihabara or ueno or asakusa or odaiba for less crowd/noise
@Shimousa16 күн бұрын
@@Okashime I also love going to Tokyo. Overtourism is a serious problem in Japan's major tourist destinations, such as Tokyo, due to worsening public safety. On the other hand, in Japan's rural areas, towns are becoming obsolete and the gap between them and cities and famous tourist destinations is becoming more serious. That's why I proposed traveling to the regions of Japan instead of congregating in Tokyo, which would help eliminate overtourism and further revitalize the regions.
@Okashime16 күн бұрын
@Shimousa this same issue also happens in other countries, its not exclusively just for Japan. As far as I know I think it also the same issue in some Europe countries like Italy where its very crowded on major destination tourist cities but very quiet/empty on rural area, to the point there's literally 1€ homes sales project by the government for people to buy cheap houses and make the villages/abandoned rural area alive again. It also happen in some SEA countries too, But even then its still will take alot of time for the empty rural places get popular by tourist again since most tourist will go to places with the most entertainment they can offer. Most tourist doesnt really wants to stay in quiet village/city with minimal entertainment aside just natures or religious sites like temples, shrines, etc for a long period of time, it will just be a short getaway trip to relax but not the entire trip usually unless they exclusively looking to just relax the entire trip.
@Shimousa15 күн бұрын
@@Okashime In fact, there are still many sightseeing spots in rural areas of Japan that foreign tourists are unaware of. Frankly speaking, I think it is a waste to come to Japan and see only Tokyo and leave. In rural areas, you can eat fresh local food and experience various things depending on the region. For example, you can see drift ice along the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, or coral reefs on Miyako Island. As for regional sightseeing, we recommend taking the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka via Nagano, Kurobe/Unazuki Onsen, Toyama, Kanazawa, Kaga Onsen, Fukui, and Kyoto. In addition, Yubari City is a very desolate town, but it deserves more recognition for its ski resorts and the nearby famous ski resorts of Niseko and Tomamu, which are popular among foreign tourists.

Why go to Shibuya?? It is just a touristy thing. No Japanese citizen is celebrating a countdown in Shibuya. People are only making it difficult for Japanese police officers. If you wanna countdown with fireworks go to a different country, please.
