That is a very cold trombone I would love to have a New York 36.

They're out there! Should be a couple for sale soon.

That 36 reminds me of the Conn 78H Special that I just got from the Brass Ark. It would be fun to compare the two horns side by side. My 78H according to the serial number is from 1940, and it has a custom F attachment that plays incredibly open and focused. It's a sweet horn to play!

I’ve got a 36 and 42 from nearly the same era (couple years newer) and they both have the same rotor. It’s generally called a “Marston valve” (I guess that was the guy who made it). I also don’t think that’s a red brass bell… I think it’s just patina. My old 42 has a similar look. Great horns!

It's definitely not a yellow bell, and I'm not sure it's gold brass either... there are a few red bells from this era

Hi Aidan. Enjoy your informative videos and beautiful playing. I have a '62 Mtv red brass 50B on dbl Hangmans. If you ever come to Washington I'd love to have you review it. Everyone who plays it loves it.

Hello Aidan! I've been following your channel for several years. I find your videos very interesting, and I have learn a lot with you. I was wondering why you haven't earned a 100K followers plaque. And I have the reason, I think! You never encourage your audience to give you a like for your great videos. That's first. Secondly, you never encourage your viewers to get subscribed. You just end your videos just saying: Bye bye! And it never give the opportunity for the viewer to do so. May be you can do a small effort to advertise more your excellent channel. This is just an advise! I've been playing the tenor trombone for 46 years and I really appreciate your work. As I said, I learned a lot with your videos and I wish a great success for you and your channel!

Hey, Manuel! I'm glad you've learned something from my channel. I love making youtube videos, and I want to keep it that way- any more work I put in than I do now will make me love it less, which will make the quality lower.

Well, you've got 24 likes from likely 250 views, with no new subscriber... As you wish!

@@manuele.rosado2304 yup, and that's fine! I have gained 60 in the last month, which is just about normal for the last year or so.

What websites would you use the most if your looking for trombones?

All the usual haunts. I don't use ebay much but it sometimes has deals

Aidan, Just curious about how you polish your bells. What product do you use?

Hope's Brass Polish

@Aidan Ritchie Thanks. Do you relacquer too or just leave it bare?
@AidanRitchie Жыл бұрын
@@markstratemeyer9825 just bare. Much of the reason I take it off is to improve how a horn responds, and relacquering is expensive and difficult!
