Flip Rock was way underrated! He was dope, strong and in control of all of his moves. I didn't appreciate him back in the day but looking at him now....whew!

Stuff like this and the movie Beat Street brings tears to my eyes. Is this a New York is long gone. It was a great time, Hip Hop was in the air, you could smell it and you could taste it, It was all around me man. I grew up in 179th and Bathgate avenue in the Bronx.

In 1984, 5th grade, my family moved from the worst part of Brooklyn to a Queens suburb. I went from public school to the local Catholic private school. At my old school, my breakdancing skills were MEH (not that good), but at this new school, everybody was amazed at my most basic moves!! I started battling and destroying all challengers. But pretty soon, some kids got better than me and kicked my ass. The world of Breakdancing!! I miss '82-'84!!!

At 6:13 that's how rapping sounded in the yearly day. Rapping started around the DJ he would hire a cat to get the crowd going and eventually they will get more creative with the ways they did it and started rhyming.
