What a shame, such a good voice! Sorry for your loss! I remember immediately buying the 12" Single when it first came out! I also remember playing my drums to this song in my apartment over-and-over-and over again! I was hoping to find a former choir member or writer(s) of the song because I've been having difficulty in discerning some of the lyrics correctly to this song. I guess my hopes are in vain? :(

OMG - Henry's Cocktail Lounge, UBQ, Ten Gentlemen, Lafayette Orleans, Ocies Lounge, all iin Detroit. Those were the days - we would dance all night and up for work at 7:30 the next day with no problems!!! No worries about bullets flyiing either.

Even though this is a Gospel song...in the 80's it was played at ALL of the block parties, and JAMs in the Bronx.....and believe we danced/sang this song as if we were in church. Thank you grand Master Flash, DJ Red Alert, Pete DJ Jones, and all the rest of the DJ's from back then....we had fun in 18 park, 49 park, St. Marys Park, the Black doe, and the Dixie club.....

Jamming to this jam at Kelly's Lounge back in the day in Detroit. The club opened at midnight and closed at 6 a.m. We danced our butts to the song all night long. I remember I had to sneak out the house and me and the crew would meet up at Kelly's lounge and dance like it was no tomorrow!

I bought this back in '77 both the 12'inch and album, I first heard this in Chicago on my way to a family reunion for my girlfriend's family 's I could not believe a gospel song could be so funky the bass is killing it. Never did pick it up.

Loved this song! When the D.J. played this song at our high school dance. The floor would fill up with everyone dancing. It was a total surprise to us to find out later this song was a Christian Religious Disco song with a funky drum beat. We kept dancing to it anyway.
