God bless the Fire Patrol of New York.. saw the Naudet Documentary and saw a couple of those fire patrol men there. There was one in particular who I would love to know his name. The look of fear and sadness in his eyes pierced my heart to the core. I'd love to know if he's ok..

Why Are They Disabanded in 2006
@fdny35263 ай бұрын
@@October2008 Budget cuts were the number one reason and also lack of public servants for the patrol. Fire Patrols 4-10 were disbanded long before Fire Patrols 1-3

I made the cover otherwise the recording was actually from the morning of September 11th 2001 just before the whole fire patrol agency was disbanded in 2006 unfortunately for the patrol we lost at least 24 members of the Fire Patrol of New York or FPNY now the recording from 9/11 is actually from Fire Patrol 2 which was quartered in Brooklyn with Fire Patrol 3 but these 3 patrol units like I said were disbanded in 2006 to make way for newer apartment buildings such as tenements brownstones and projects so we lost the patrol after their decentegration of their agency after reaching it’s peak of operation, now the thing about the patrol was back in 1803 people needed an idea of who to call to salvage their property so they organized the mutual assistance bag company that time they worn a brown leather hat a button up jacket and carried a russian linen bag and they would go into the burning building and throw a number of covers to salvage what’s left of their property, then in 1835 they were then called the New York Fire Patrol and at the time they responded to the major fire of 1839 and at the peak of operation they 10 units 10 companies and more than 100 members, then in the 1980s they had 3 units 3 housed and 3 companies with 101 uniformed men, back in 1991 they responded to a 2nd alarm and thrown salvage covers over the property in the building and then they were done but never left the scene because it’s illegal to leave the fire as a firefighter or patrol member and not clean up the mess that was made, but in the 1800s beds were the most expensive item in houses and you had to have a key to dismantle them and then take them out of the houses, but in the 1950s they NYFP or New York Fire Patrol was then changed to the FPNY or Fire Patrol New York or Fire Patrol City of New York, they were there on 9/11 like I said. Also Chief Dempsey was there on 9/11 still was in the Fire Patrol, William Fiad was a member of the patrol for 4 years and got his training with them before becoming a member of the FDNY
