When they declined the 5th year option for Jones, it came tagged with a sheepish admission from the ownership that "We've done everything possible to screw this kid up since he's been here." All along the debate has been "does he suck, or is it the fact he doesn't have a good cast around him makes him look worse than he is"; we've seen this season that the second opinion seems to be the correct one. "Danny Dimes" doesn't have his fifth year option, but I do believe when all is said and done the Giants will keep him as the starter going forward instead of starting over again in the draft next year. :)

Yeah the refs were pretty crazy but the Giants had so many drops it shouldn't have even been this close. The injuries kept it even closer. When Bellinger and Robinson got hurt the offense struggled. What Jones is doing every week is impressive.

Barkley going OOB three times in the Giants last possession w/ less than 4 minutes less was also a major blunder. If the Jags had still gotten the ball back, it would have been with a lot less time.

Not seeing too many jags fans in the comments, as one I must say that was just painful, kick that field goal on 4th and 1, direct snap to etienne come on doug. That last drive would’ve gone completely differently going for a field goal then a touchdown. Or if that other field goal just didn’t get blocked man, such a heartbreaker once again. Etienne needs some ball security work weekly from now on too but I am glad to see him start to come to life. Onto next week
@itr08632 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I was at the game. I don’t know why Doug hates to just lineup in big formation just to pound out some short yardage. He gets too cute with the playcalling I feel at times in short yardage. I love his playcalling any other other time but it’s so predictable in the red zone and when we need short yardage. My pet peeve is when there is an obvious run play and he will do some RPO ETN bs when the giants are literally stacking up the middle. Just line up goal line and if you can’t get 1 yard in 2 plays then don’t even use James Robinson anymore. A nice back-and-forth game but Doug really has to be conservative on the 4th down stop with Lawrence, especially when the Giants were unstoppable driving the ball. Kick the fg and you’re up 7 pts

How the HC didn't grab Barkley by the facemask and yell "stop running outta bounds" after the 1st time is beyond me. Gifted the Jags over 50 free seconds!
@mikeyrue2 жыл бұрын
Although the last minute lasted almost 10 (felt that way, anyway,) and the flags just came out of nowhere, it was still a satisfying win for the Giants. Saquan could have made life easier had he just stayed in-bounds after a first down run at around the 3:00 mark in the 4th. For a little while, you couldn't help but wonder if not taking the points earlier in the 4th would come back to haunt the Giants. Defense came up big when it needed to, and the run game had its finest moments late in the game. Keep in mind, the Giants lost 3 starters on offense during this game. Jones had a huge moment when he avoided a sack to simply throw the ball away. To me, it now seems like the game is slowing down just a little bit for him. His runs were essential. First time in seemingly forever since the Giants had an RB and QB rush for over 100 yards in the same game!! That kind of production will keep a team in most games. Confidence just keeps building and building.... Go Giants!!!
