That financial logic is fundamentally flawed. You don’t want a lot of unfill jobs any more than you want a lot of unemployment. You want to get as close to complete balance as possible. If you have a lot of unfill positions it’s gonna drive up wages, which is good in the very short term, but that extra cost of production is gonna drive up inflation, and the people who are hit hardest by inflation are the middle class whose jobs are not being fought over, so who can’t negotiate better pay, and who have a bit of savings the value of which will dramatically decrease. That is why temporary work-visas are ESSENTIAL in a booming economy, if you want the rising tide to lift all boats. The rich who own shares of the companies will be fine as profit margins will stay the same or even increase in the long term. If you have any questions I’ll gladly answer them.

If you give companies a large influx of immigrants willing to work for $7.25 and hour, they will certainly hire them. That doesn't necessarily make the community better. For example, the mcdonalds in my hometown starts off at $11 an hour. If they can find a bunch of people to work for 7.25, they will hire them. That forces native born citizens out of a job, and resets the wage floor for that position. The community isn't better off for it. Second, your argument that the extra cost of production drives up inflation is false, so it is good to have a bunch of workers to low bid american works on wages is flawed logic. Higher prices will lead the consumer to change behaviors and pick and choose different products or not buy. Eventually, it will balance out as there is only so much businesses can charge before the customer refuses to buy. Full unemployment will drive up inflation as more people with capital drives up demand which in turn drives up prices and competition for marker and government goods and services. Third, Inflation always hit the lowest class hardest as more of their limited income is spend on essentials. Also. It is the lower class that will be most affected by giving non citizens work permits. Their low skill jobs are the ones that they will be competing for. I am all for temporary work permits for seasonal work -work migrants have largely and historically done. If the number of permits need to be increased, I am for increasing farm and ranch work permits. But, letting them all compete with Americans on the greater job market is a big no for me. The owners will largely be okay paying higher wages to american citizens. I don't side with big business on this one. Every time minimum wage has been increased, they whine and cry things will collapse or they will go out of business. The American economy has kept going and inflation has largely risen at a slow and steady pace over the decades. However, letting a large influx of people into the job market will cause inflation to rise much faster as they are now in the market that is attuned to work and service for a slow increase in demand due to natural population growth and reasonable and steady immigration. It's really a pick your problem kind of situation. And frankly, I choose higher wages for American citizens.

A UDL occurs when the value of commercial RE in NYC drops by 40% due to high vacancies brought on by Extended Covid lockdowns - work from home. Lower RE values = lower RE tax assessments = less tax money coming in. Next, people and businesses frustrated by high taxes, high crime, and lower standards leave NYC = even less tax money coming in. So the decision to add bike lanes made traffic even worse… solution charge people for driving cars. Make them take the subway and buses and walk. But The decision to release everyone on probation and watered down bail reform led to the subways, streets, and buses being unsafe for everyone. Solution call in the national guard so we can tell people they will be safe now. Just because a decision sounds nice doesn’t make it feasible or functional. For years, I've been hearing about farmers complaining that they can't find workers. Well, we've got millions of possible workers available, asking for asylum. They'll work if given the opportunity to make a little money, while their case is being processed.

I wonder how much money immigrants of the past received from the government? Did they get a place to stay that was paid for them? Did they get healthcare paid for them? Did they have schools shut down to give them a place to live? Were they given money on a regular basis for groceries and basic needs? I don't think so. A foreigner should never have more benefits or come before it's citizens without the consent of the citizens. Anymore than if an American went to Mexico, or France, or Australia and expected to receive special assistance for being there illegally and undocumented. This is nuts and meant to destroy our country. Our American government is supposed to be representative not authoritarian. There is supposed to be checks and balances. Americans are natural givers we don't need the government to give for us and decide who we want to be generous to.
