Investment capital goes where it's treated best. The current conversation is extremely exploratory. The education of the workforce, qualified trades people, disassembling of BEE, persistent strikes and controversies by unions, reducing corporate taxes, reducing excessive regulation, an efficient transportation system, security, access to electricity 24 hours per day, an integrous judiciary, business visas, etc. will be the minimal requirements for the flow of investment capital to South Africa. Depending on the political will of South African politicians, this process will take at least 10 to 15 years......South Africa will have to make itself a highly attractive investment destination. The departures of BHP, Shell and Volkswagen from South Africa does not bode well for future companies to invest in the country.........why did they leave if South Africa was a business friendly destination?
