Minister Leon Schreiber, before looking abroad, prioritize SA's unemployed skilled engineers! Consider their expertise FIRST, then look outside. Create a National Skills Database, streamline applications, advertise local opportunities & collaborate with industry stakeholders. Let's empower local talent & drive economic growth!
@suh-guyАй бұрын
What he is saying is, if we bring in skilled people from outside, our own people can learn a lot from that one skilled outsider. Imagine how much a school would benefit & learn from 1 highly skilled teacher. Those same engineers would learn a whole ton from a team of experienced engineers who have worked on technical projects overseas. It's like how you need Generals to train soldiers - soldiers who will one day also become generals. Who don't live in a bubble.🙂

It's about time we bring economic logic on tourism and create jobs. I'm in Europe and travelled to many western countries and it costs an arm and leg to renew visas and etc, these countries are making a killing boosting their economy. Let South Africa unlock this opportunity and showcase our Beautiful Country. I'm really feeling positive about this for SA. Love this guy. Love the plans and ideas. What I do not love is that even the DA seems to focus on China, India, other African countries.. and the nomad visa, yes amazing idea! BUT what about an American that owns property in Durban? I already contribute to the economy via taxes/rates that I pay from abroad in my letted properties. My wife and I have been struggling with red tape and absurd requirements trying to obtain this retirement visa. If there was a visa/residence based on property ownership.. ya know what? We would already be there. That would mean another property.. as well as our contribution to the economy via more taxes, groceries , crazy coffee addiction, etc. Please do not forget about people like us! We are giving it another six months before we sell all property and going elsewhere. Plenty of countries that give residency based on property ownership.

Great ideas and initiatives, but please reconsider the purchasing of residential property by foreigners. Foreigners should only be allowed to lease property long term. South Africans cannot compete against the Dollar/Pound.
Can always build more houses on SA land. Foreign benefits our economy! We are selling them a product that can be produced again using lots of labour there by creating jobs!
@shiftyourmindset2Ай бұрын
then you have to level up here.. buying houses by foreigners is hiring workers also, good for the employment rate..you have people who actually pay rates etc.. because almost no one is paying here something.. free this free that. they spent their money here.. so i see no problems. there is enough land

I disagree with your comparison. If we want to move forward and improve we must compare to the desired standard for our future. We want to be more close to the Australian security standards that those in Nigeria. That's the only way to move upwards. Similarly, the Australian immigration system is an outstanding one to use as a baseline. You can get an entry visa as a tourist in less than 10 minutes if you have all the required information. Minister Shreiber Now you must write a law that compels EVERY PERSON (over 16 years) to carry an identification card (or passport) whenever they leave their homes to enter public places such as roads, cities etc. Police (and officials) must randomly check individuals's identity. Arrest every 'ghost' who floats anonymous inside South Africa ... and check their finger prints with Home Affairs. And install cameras, everywhere, connected to Artifial Intelligence with face recognition capabilities to assist government with citizen controll. When excercising controll over the people in South Africa, only then will proper governance become viable. Crime will be reduced. Also abuse of grants, medical services, schools, universities etc, by 'ghosts'. Even voter registration and management of elections can be improved in order to protect the integrity of the democracy. No 'ghost' person must be allowed, in public places, in SA, to protect the law abiding society.
