I LOVE this video! I'm memorizing 20 pages of script for a one-woman show for the Jewish Museum of MD about Bessie Bluefeld, a Russian Jewish immigrant who came to Baltimore MD in 1907 with her husband and after many ups and downs founded Bluefeld Kosher catering. Very successful! Your amazing music is helping my 67 year old brain with the memorizing. I chant the words to your rhythms!!! Thanks so much! Terry Nicholetti

I listened again today....again, JUST GREAT GREAT...sincere, classical KLEZMER that ordinary people can relate to and enjoy and not some eclectic, modern, overly advanced and progressive Jewish " jazz " which no fan of traditional KLEZ can understand or enjoy. They are all very good musicians and each plays his role in this style of music perfectly. I especially love the DRUMMER who plays many varied Klezmer tempos and fill ins which add variety and flavor to the music. In too many KLEZ bands the drummer uses the same repeated and monotonous rhythm. All very PURE and authentic...I wish I could sing with them because that is all that is missing to make this really connect with the audience... and of course play my accordion...I am in Canada but my whole family lives in Brooklyn Love them.

+Leon Maliniak If it's classic Klezmer, where's the fiddle?
@leonmaliniak9 жыл бұрын
Having been a professional KLEZMER musician for thirty years I must say that the fiddle is often a part of classical KLEZ and I do enjoy it but there is no " RULE " about that and great music of this genre can be achieved even without the fiddle. I always preferred the clarinet as the MAIN instrument because it can " KVETCH" and laugh and bend notes like no fiddle can do. I played accordion and copied the clarinet style which I learned by listening to DAVE TARRAS ...but it is all good. I just do not like over complicated progressive jazz-like klezmer which is NOT like the traditional music and which ordinary people cannot relate to

As Elhombredelmar says, music is universal. Political discussions are utterly irrelevant here, and outright bigotry has no place *anywhere*. Just relax and enjoy the music. These guys are good at what they do.

Klezmer is a form of jazz originated in Poland by Jews who had no formal music education. Like American jazz originating in Africa, one person started playing a few notes and the rest picked it up and played. TRUE JAZZ.

This is a true example of jazz with a Jewish accent , Infectious ......Sort of like "Fiddler on the Roof" after two martinis
@Logrinn4210 жыл бұрын
Klezmer is pre-jazz. It started in the 16th century. So you can think of Jazz of Klezmer with an American accent if you want. I consider them both to be in their own genres. :)
@pingomatic1110 жыл бұрын
Michael Berger I agree. In Klez jazz they add a trombone, trumpet and piano lead with a little more mandolin, but they lost the accordion and fiddle. The clarinet keeps the Klezmer flavor. Plus they added a little more joy and less sadness. Love it and trad klez. (I hit the wrong button and might have blocked you Michael. Sorry) PS the piano is great and horns.

Hey, to those who are arguing below, who cares if they are Zionists,Communists, Catholics, or Fascists. What they believe or stand for, is their business. Music is music, this may not even be purist Klezmer, but it sounds ok to me.
