This is definitely a “taking a flyer” which is something teams normally don’t do with a 1RP. But, the Knicks mentality has to be that he’s 18, he’s a raw talent, they dont have as many 1st round picks for awhile, so this could be a good long term investment to make up for said draft picks going to Brooklyn. This pick is anywhere between a B and A- depending on how he develops. But that mid-range shot is very nice.

Whenever I see shooting guards 6’7”-6’9”, it gets me excited. Tall players who can get buckets will always have a place in the league. Whether its spot up shooting like Novak, or a bit of shot creation like Michael Beasley. Tall bucket getters are essential for the 9th-12th rotation spot

I think Dadiet will get limited playing time in his rookie year similar to Quickley and Toppin did their rookie years. With the injuries suffered by NY last season it will be important that NY learns the importance of player development. It is also worth mentioning that although they are a young team the Knicks window will be very small and this team will be entirely different within 2 seasons. By ages 21-22 i expect Dadiet to be a 2nd or 3rd option on this team. IMHO within 4 years people will look back and say Dadiet should've been a lottery pick
