Is Familia Armando Benitez's son by any chance? This was EXACTLY what happened in the 2000 World Series against the Yankees. Mets up by a run in the 9th inning and Benitez blows it. Then fucking Familia does the EXACT same thing 15 years later. Ugh, the pain never ends being a Mets fan. They must've made a pact with Satan back in 1986 that if they won that Buckner game, they'd never win another championship again!

Barf city. Congrats to the royals...as that organization hasn’t been good since George Brett days...and then has 2 good years...and takes away the first legitimate shot at a title for Mets fans in 15 years. This series changed me from a die hard to a casual. Mets are cursed.

Oh, puhleeze. Big market teams have a chance to win it every year. If they aren't at least in the running, it's their own fault. Try catching lightning in a bottle in Kansas City. It's indeed ridiculous that a team based in New York has only 2 championships, but don't blame the Royals for catching that lightning on one of the years your mismanagement stumbled into success.
