Why not carry all three. Torrens can play other position he has even play shortstop for Venezuela so Stewwart should be the one sent down.

Only way I can see the Mets wanting to carry 3 would be if they were going use Alvarez at a different position. Many catchers with Alvarez ability Craig Biggio; BJ Surhoff: Todd Zeile to name a few that were moved out of behind the plate for regular positions. I think Alavarez if good enough athletic that if you think the bat could play to make the move. If not carrying 3 catchers is a waste at this point in the season

Just don’t need Baty and Vientos on this team. Baty is a AAAA player. Hasn’t proven otherwise. Even when Vientos doesn’t hit the ball hard, he gets an infield single and RBIs. Baty is a strikeout/groundball machine. Needs to work on only elevating the ball if he wants a chance. His defense is much improved though. I’ll give him that.

Keep 3 catchers and try to package Nido with McNeil or Marte for quality prospect(s). Thinking better to salvage some value from Nido rather than dfa, and see if we can unload a contract of an underperforming player who doesn't figure into the Mets future.

Gotta get creative with making players valuable. Nido would have value with the Rangers, having caught for Scherzer and deGrom. Marlins would possibly take McNeil for one of their lesser pitching prospects. Marte would be valuable to a team in need of a fourth outfielder/pinch running base threat.

None of those guys are bringing quality prospects back. They are going lower the return. Mets thing should be just eat money and get rid of them for what you can. Try and clear as much money in 2024 as possible as to help the future.

Come on dude they backed into that win. Again the worst team I ever saw getting a runner home from third base with less than two outs. I'm glad they won because they surely needed it.. I think nidos gone.... the Lucas Duda play that ended the World Series goes through my mind in big moments like that maybe now I will think of Torrens play instead
