In 2006, I was a 19yr old tourist from Australia, and actually visited this train show in Edison, NJ! What a massive event this was and also how much cheaper model trains were here than they are back home! Anyhow I enjoyed this video and it reminded me of those times

I am sorry on your holiday from Australia you had to endure New Jersey haha. Happy to help you relive some good memories !

Hey, RJ, thanks for sharing your visit to the show with us! I loved seeing all of those layouts. I was not surprised this time that you did not purchase anything from the show. That MTH RES2CUE switcher is pretty sharp though! Bill B.

I was there Sunday. I couldn’t find any MTH curve track ( O-72 and O-54) and that was the main reason for my visit. I did enjoy looking at the layouts. Especially, the Raritan River with all those lights and details. I was impressed by how well the trains ran on all those modular layouts. It’s a testament to all the club members.

Nice switcher. I think they should run high nose backward.

If I was going for prototypical operations, yes. But is also a switcher that is painted like a fire truck and pulling 1930s passenger cars

I was a vender at the show and was disappointed. The Edison show is a Greenberg train and "toy" show. I would say a lot of what was there was not train related. There were lots of toys. The highlights were the lego layout, the Raritan Valley Hi-Railers, TCA Metca, and Gryboskis.
@rj.trains17 сағат бұрын
Yea I would say it was probably about 30% not train related. Sorry to hear it was not a great show for you.

Love ya RJ, so I'm willing to overlook (AHEM!) those New Jersey wiecracks. Maybe. Possibly. Kinda-sorta. Anyway I'm sure your trip out to Edison for the Greenberg show was kind of like getting the COVID jab, it didn't hurt a bit now did it? The only thing I resented about getting the jab was no lollypop afterward! It's been a while since I've been to one but I have to say the Edison Greenberg show is really the "Gold Standard" of Greenberg shows! Man, if you can't find it at one of those shows it's just not to be found anywhere! I was lucky enough to have some Edison shows coincide with some visits up north and I did come away with some good stuff! And that FDNY switcher's gorgeous! A great tribute to the best fire department in the world! (And I mean absolutely NO disrespect to any others by that observation!) Thanks for bringing us along!

I went to one at the Dulles Expo Center and I thought that one was better than Edison show. Although I was younger and more naive than I am today haha. Plus with so much on order, I was wearing horse blinders.

I like the Greenberg show as has a lot of good stuff in scale and semi scale and keeps it in one room. Big retailers and private sellers as well. Although cost prohibitive I would like to see more larger shows in NYC or northern Jersey, there is a large population there surprised there isn't more. Too bad Trainworld doesn't come out to any of these, that would be very dangerous to the wallet :) Nice video glad you made it out there!
@rj.trainsКүн бұрын
While I think there is a large demand for large train shows in the New York area, I think the biggest prohibitive factor is space. There are only a handful of places that could host a Big E or York sized show BUT the cost of hosting them in the immediate NYC area is probably a lot more than York, PA or Springfield, MA

Hi RJ. I watch most of your videos. Stop picking on New Jersey. I lived here my entire life. You don’t see the beauty of New Jersey from riding up and down the Turnpike in a car doing 70 mph that’s for sure.
