New York’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree cut down in Massachusetts

For all of the people wringing their hands about this tree read up on the story. The tree was nearing the end or its life and it was donated in memory of a recently deceased relative. The tree will be milled into lumber for a Habitat for Humanity house so it will live on for many years. the tree was not wasted. To all of the negative commenters, if you live in a house made of wood, shame on you as hundreds of trees were cut down for that.

As I already told one person the head gardener from Rockefeller Center saw the tree 4 years ago and spoke to the family and asked if they would donate it! They didn’t just slouch through the neighborhood and cut the thing down for the heck of it. The tree was donated in his wife’s memory! Give it a rest!

You do know that NYC plants hundreds more trees in the name of each rockefellar tree. And the tree will actually be used and processed after Christmas for everyday things you use like toilet paper, paper, pencils, plywood, etc, etc. Everyday things you have in your house right now. So saying cutting down a poor tree when it happens literally every second of the day, but because its not recorded you act like its not happening and when it does you cry. You need trees for you everyday living, so be thankful. It's not like the tree will be thrown away in the garbage afterwards.

You know at certain times in a trees life it starts dying. There are plenty of trees around for birds and if you are so upset about the thing you should mone out of your house because a tree lost its life for the building of it. This beauty will be milled after the holidays and the wood donated to Habitat For Humanity so people don’t have to live underneath trees but can have a warm house to raise their children in and create memories with. Just think of the wonderful story the family will have of this trees life!

What great way to get rid of a tree like that ? I wonder too ,if they could grind up the tree stump as well ! Just think of the road path needed to clear all over head comm and electric wire spans , bridge over passes and traffic control signal arms / support wires ? How many electricians crews would be hired along the way to NYC ? After Christmas , that tree trunk could sold to a mill and think of the nice 4 £6 board feet pieces ? When I see this, it kind of makes me sad. I start thinking about who may have planted the tree and when. This tree does look like it possibly could have been dangerous for those who lived in the house but it looks pretty strong nevertheless. With everything about Christmas becoming artificial, it does seem like they could get a fake tree for Rockefeller Center. This tree will be doctored up to look like what they want it to look like in the end anyway. I don't know. I have mixed feelings about it.
