New York’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree cut down in Massachusetts

For all of the people wringing their hands about this tree read up on the story. The tree was nearing the end or its life and it was donated in memory of a recently deceased relative. The tree will be milled into lumber for a Habitat for Humanity house so it will live on for many years. the tree was not wasted. To all of the negative commenters, if you live in a house made of wood, shame on you as hundreds of trees were cut down for that.

As I already told one person the head gardener from Rockefeller Center saw the tree 4 years ago and spoke to the family and asked if they would donate it! They didn’t just slouch through the neighborhood and cut the thing down for the heck of it. The tree was donated in his wife’s memory! Give it a rest!

You do know that NYC plants hundreds more trees in the name of each rockefellar tree. And the tree will actually be used and processed after Christmas for everyday things you use like toilet paper, paper, pencils, plywood, etc, etc. Everyday things you have in your house right now. So saying cutting down a poor tree when it happens literally every second of the day, but because its not recorded you act like its not happening and when it does you cry. You need trees for you everyday living, so be thankful. It's not like the tree will be thrown away in the garbage afterwards.

Great thought for those who donate this giant Christmas Tree. Besides, the plan to be utilized post Christmas for humanity habitat was also equally greatful thoughts . Its served for both purposes. Perhaps so many new trees can be planned in the next summer as plenty of barren land around this area seem to be available. It's my pray that this Christmas Tree will reflect the real message of Christmas especially those who has turn back or not taken their Faith in Jesus Christ seriously. You know at certain times in a trees life it starts dying. There are plenty of trees around for birds and if you are so upset about the thing you should mone out of your house because a tree lost its life for the building of it. This beauty will be milled after the holidays and the wood donated to Habitat For Humanity so people don’t have to live underneath trees but can have a warm house to raise their children in and create memories with. Just think of the wonderful story the family will have of this trees life!

At seventy or so in years, it was just hitting its stride, at least in human terms, more than a generation , 25 years of standing strong, the wind and it becoming a musical instrument at any moment, when they merged into one, and sang, now gone forever. The sights and sounds, it's fragrance, and it's witness to so much more, gone. So many children, not yet born, who could have looked up in wonder over so many years, now gone. For what? Nothing more than the transitory human greed of fame, or celebrity? Is that right? Is that why they murdered it, in plain sight, on an unusually warm, November day? A public hanging? What great way to get rid of a tree like that ? I wonder too ,if they could grind up the tree stump as well ! Just think of the road path needed to clear all over head comm and electric wire spans , bridge over passes and traffic control signal arms / support wires ? When I see this, it kind of makes me sad. I start thinking about who may have planted the tree and when. This tree does look like it possibly could have been dangerous for those who lived in the house but it looks pretty strong nevertheless. With everything about Christmas becoming artificial, it does seem like they could get a fake tree for Rockefeller Center.
