2 rail O scale is very tempting to me because of the variety of rolling stock and engines out there. but its probably just as expensive as G scale

Atlas O made both 2 and 3 Rail. MTH also made a limited amount of 2 rail but alot of their 3 rail is easy to convert. Other than that you build your own.
@wayneantoniazzi27062 жыл бұрын
That depends. If the MTH catalogs were to be believed (and I don't see why not) 0 Gauge two-rail scale diesels weren't much more expensive than the three-rail versions. Two-rail steam was another matter.

It is a shame that 0 Gage is cursed with the third rail from the Lionel gauge it would be nice if all of the modern companies made to real exclusively because I look at these railroads and there's not a bit of Lionel stuff from the 1950s is all brand new it has the third rail so it can be compatible with toys from the 1950s which ruins it's

II gave it a dislike because of the camera use, not the MRR....It's ALL side views only of full speed ahead trains.. No shots of yard trackage, sidings, towns, roads, structures, car spotting/collecting ops, no stations..Too many retaining wall shots...et al... It became boring to where I wound up fast forwarding to get to see if it would change the study..But it never does...

I did make a full tour video for those who want to see everything. This video was created for those who only wanted to see the trains running. Also I picked out areas that had the best lighting for the camera to pick up the trains.

Beautiful, beautiful railroads, but has anyone ever gone train-watching? I have never seen power units, and rolling stock that looks BRAND NEW! With all of the hundreds of thousands of people-hours spent and with the possibility of having spent hundreds of thousands of dollars - why does NO ONE go the extra mile and weather, stain, make these power units and rolling stock APPEAR real? Not all but most power units look like they have been through an oil or tar bath: most of the rolling stock on real railroads appear to have been through a war - GREAT railroads, but NOT realistic! I also respectfully make note: why not operate the power units REALISTICALLY? Is there a race going on? Are the operators all Indy 500 Mario Andretti race drivers? Slow it down: enjoy the ridge, enjoy the experience - Great layouts - but so many things which make 'them' appear toy-like.

Re: speed, during a public exhibition most attendees are parents with their kids and they love to see trains moving and and many of them. An operating session would be nice where things are slowed down but then who would watch a 2 hour video with most wanting short and fast clips. Re: Weathering If you watch carefully the single K4 passenger train is weathered for in service look. The bigboy is also nicely done along with the conrail. Some modelers are into realism with weathering and some are not and just like to run as is. Hobby is big enough to have all enjoyable aspects.
