New York Staten Island Ferry - Free tour of New York Harbor

We spend a summer day taking the Staten Island Ferry from Lower Manhattan to Staten Island, passing the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Brooklyn and New Jersey. We have splendid views of the financial district as well. This is New York's best value excursion, because its completely free. A great family outing in New York City (NYC)

Note that the ferry has only been free since 1997. Us poor New Yorkers had to pay 50 cents round trip before then.
