Boyfriend and I love your videos! We currently live on Staten Island, you stated that our one train does not run often, not true. It runs quite often and has express trains during rush hour. Its a very interesting train line and the last stop in Tottenville is considered the most southern tip of New York and it is really charming. It you ever do a Staten Island video, the biggest secret about our train is that it's practically free. There are only turnstiles at the St. George stop and the second stop which is Tompkinsville. The rest of the stops you can get off and on the train for free 😊

@@w.iraheta3769 So worth it. You’ll enjoy it and all the photos on the walls are fun to check out while You wait. You may see Adam Sandler in there You never know who. I haven’t ever bothered anyone in there but it’s still cool af just to see them chillen If I can catch them stepping outside then I’ll ask for a pic but not in the restaurants. Pete Rose is the only person I’ve ever bothered while sitting @ diner tables waiting for our foods. He didn’t have His food Yet so I asked for a pic real quick and He said sure Then He talked Baseball with Me for like half the time He was there. Dude was cool af. Whole other restaurant though. Lol If it’s Your 1st NYC visit You are going to be surprised by how small most establishments are , like not a lot of room . Everything has sellers, all open everywhere . Also if You want to have a cocktail then I recommend Nurse Betties , especially weekend nights , hotties Its on Norfolk The Lower East Side. which is just a little more uptown from Mulberry St. / Little Italy 🇮🇹 My sister happens to be in NYC RN for 4 or 5 days She did the Harry Potter Broadway Show last night and loved it, She says it’s Great. ✌️ Brother Have A Great Time I know I do . But Stay aware , especially if visiting The Bronx , especially around Yankee stadium. lol ✌️ 🙏

Since I am cheap and hate "planned activities". I generally take the SI ferry to take pics of the harbor and Ellis Island and Lady Liberty. I find that more relaxing than waiting around for a tour to finish.

Before September 11, 2001, you didn't have to get off the ferry when it docked. You were able to ride back and forth all night if you wanted to. I have to say it was a very romantic ride on a stormy night with my ex girlfriend. One night I sailed in a blizzard. It was very exciting as the ship rocked from side to side and jumped as it hit ice caps floating in the water. I still have an unused admission ticket for transporting my motorcycle which as you stated carrying vehicles was terminated after September 11, 2001. Is it safe? Ask Marshall Mathers (AKA) Eminem, who was mugged on the Staten Island Ferry after doing a show at the Lane Theatre on New Dorp Lane in Staten Island during his early days of his career. Maybe look up "Staten Island Ferry fights" on KZbin.

You really do make great videos...very informative and well done.. I live on Staten Island ( I am from the Lower East Side /East Village)and we locals tend to hang back....sit on the side opposite the statue because we know the tourist will be climbing over each other to see ..... I was told that the Vanderbilt you mentioned was a brother of the famous Vanderbilts.. He was a " nerdowell"..then he came up with the idea of the Ferry... I believe he had to borrow to by the first boat...( as I recall)...When I was a child..my father would drive us all to The beaches here...it was exciting ( to a child) . The cars were allowed on the Ferry and we would get hot dogs......I am very impressed with how through you are in retelling the historical points.........P.S. The Ferry at night has very strange characters........

This June, I'm making my first trip back to America and New York in a blink over 10 years, as part of a very-slightly-late 50th birthday present From Me, To Me (oh, thank me!) with, oh yeah, seeing my emigrated kid sister and her family then too - and sure, This trip I'm going to take the Staten Island ferry at least once. City ferry rides can be great - I'm very fond of the short but dramatic Hong Kong island-mainland ferry link - so I'm looking forward to this ferry ride, and seeing Manhattan gradually rising up in front. (Sounds silly to say maybe, but mentally I still miss the Twin Towers - gone before my first every visit to NY/America, but mentally still ghost-seared in my brain as part of the New York skyline.) So, cheers for the fun video - Subscribed! - which was ferry entertaining indeed. Ah, dad jokes...

I once witnessed 2 Russian women push a stroller off the back of the ferry. There was no baby in it, just 2 enormous stereo speakers. And just yesterday a guy threw a shoe at my car in The East Village. It rebounded and smacked him in his chest though. Karma i believe that is.

We visited NYC for a week recently. There was this short Hispanic guy going off in the ferry terminal. He said he had sold his soul and he was in flames. He got on the ferry and started arguing with a cop. F bombs were flying everywhere. Once we got to Staten Island a woman was just inside the terminal after getting off the ferry yelling about Jesus Christ. We were barely in NY for a few hours and had already had our fill of the crazies.🤣😭 Besides that, the trip was pretty good. We enjoyed ourselves
