Just started following you and I'm also just starting on my collage journey (as an adult, used to do them all the time as a kid.) Ordered some Uhu glue after seeing it hold up well for you. I've been a scrapbooker for 30 years and adhesion definitely is an issue over time. I did like the people in this collage, was sorry to see them go but I still really like the finished product. Hope New York was awesome!

So glad to hear it! In the meantime you can start getting your compositions made so that glue stick is ready to go 😋 I may add them back in at the bottom! We'll see! Thanks.

Loved this, couldn't believe you cut that seaweed piece, wow, that was some serious fussy cutting! I was thinking maybe you could cut out the sand and people and collage them up on the background you kept?

The final pieces looks really amazing,a good precursor to your New York trip and show,it reminds me of the posters for that film The Day After Tomorrow, that had the hand and torch from the statue of liberty emerging from the sea.(Matt) p.s good luck for your NYC show, maybe a title for this collage could be "Aqua Liberty"....

✨💖✨Sometimes I feel dissatisfied when trying to blend different eras or tones of papers. Have you tried using a light wash on the background or focal point to knock back the brightness of one or the other? I've had mixed results but I like it when it helps. I've used water color or coffee.

I agree with you, it can be rather hard! I like the vintage black and white with brighter new magazines. I have not tried but I do know of other artists that do this. My compositions usually work out without having to as I don't mix eras as often. But if you experiment let me know what happens!
