As someone born in London, moved to the countryside till I was 23 (including school in Bristol and Uni in Nottingham), came back to London for law school, moved out of London again to the countryside (Devon and Cornwall), and then back to London in 2015, I can safely say London is fantastic!! I love walking through the City at night, especially in winter, with nobody else around - the section of the City where 600K people come to work every day has only 10K actual residents, and it's simply magical to walk past St Pauls, down into the City, through streets and alleyways that Dickens would have recognised as ancient, and know that despite the hustle and bustle during the day, at 2am you will not see another human for hours... Plus, the food in London is truly excellent!

For some reason unbeknownst to me as a Londoner, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted, airports that support access to London are not in London but recently rebranded like they are. Whereas Heathrow is in London. Just remember London is so much more than touristy areas. It’s vast and there are many sides to London, from old architecture to modern architecture. It’s a dynamic city that encompasses the old and the new. To understand what I mean, visit the city of London and Canary Wharf. Using the Elizabeth line and other forms of transport to gain access to these areas. I hope you enjoy your visit to London.

The only airport that is actually IN London is the London City, located on what once the King George V Dock. All the others are London adjacent and on the outskirts. In the early days of international travel, the then London airport (now Heathrow) was the one passengers used.

Sorry, what? As a Londoner, you expect me to get my fish and chips from the coast, 70 odd miles, not from George's fish shop just off of Westminster Bridge Road? As you made it to Downing Street, here's a historical tid-bit that links London to New York and the foundation of America. Downing Street is named for George Downing, who was instrumental in the English attack and capture of the Dutch colony of Nieuw Amsterdam in 1664. Which was then renamed New York. And the rest is history, as they say.

As a Londoner I don’t like the location of the ”Eye”. It’s a tourist hot spot and the tacky surroundings have ruined what should be a beautiful part of the south bank. Originally it was meant to be moved down river, but hey money speaks so it was mysteriously allowed to remain, what a surprise. Trust you enjoyed your visit, the problem with this city is that it really takes a minimum of 6 months to really begin to appreciate it which just isn’t practical for the average tourist, I’m still discovering my city 20 years on 😂

I’m in Australia, and when I was in London in 2017 I did my usual museum and art gallery crawl. If you’re into that sort of thing I thoroughly recommend the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The BM has lots of really old stuff like the sculptures from the Parthenon in Athens and the Rosetta Stone, and the V&A is a sort of museum of technology. Thanks. I'm a native New Yorker and an "older" person and I as wondering what London was like, especially the social life for people 50 and over. One small correction, maybe others have pointed it out. You took a Long Island Rail Road train to Jamaica Station where you boarded the Sky Train to Kennedy Airport. The LIRR is technically a commuter train, not the subway. A lot of what you filmed is around Penn Station and I'm there on the weekend. This looks very recent as a lot of new construction is visible in your video.

@@SQUEEZEtheDAYYou’ll see comments such as “it’s only real fish chips if it’s from the coast”. Others will say you can only get good fish and chips “oop north”. Ignore those - you can get good fish and chips all over the country. The only rule is that you NEVER get it from a pub. -- I would say, however, that pub food has become very good in the last ten years, which is a big change from the old days when pubs were dirty, smelly and often violent places with good beer but terrible food. The one thing they still do badly though is fish and chips because they don’t have the specialist fryer you need.

Just as a footnote to my earlier comment with regard to menus (and you kindly replied about Google translator) - I've heard it stated more than once - in a country like France, for example, "If it's in English, it's a tourist rip off". They were frozen prepared fish and chips heated up in an oven. Definitely not the best anywhere. As most American tourist only stay in central London it's no wonder British gets a bad rap if you only eat in tourist traps

got this from google so check ok As of summer 2023, the Queen Elizabeth II Tower - better known as Big Ben - is open to the public for tours! These tours take you all the way up the tower, behind the clock faces, and into the belfry to see Big Ben itself. The tour takes 90 minutes and tickets are £24 for adults@@SQUEEZEtheDAY

This is not up for discussion. You can have opinions about many, many things but not on hard scientific facts. The geographic British Isles (including all the islands of Great Britain and Ireland) are geographically part of the continent of Europe. This is no more a thing you can have an opinion about than the fact that the moon orbits the Earth. And to address your "Brixit" comment below. Firstly, you've misspelled it. It's Brexit. Secondly, that refers to the UK leaving a political body called the European Union. Are you suggesting only countries in the EU can be European? Do you think Norway, Switzerland, Serbia etc are not European? And do you think Poland, Hungary, Romania etc were not European before they joined the EU? In fact, to follow your logic (or lack of it) no European nations could have existed before the 1950s as there was nothing like the EU before that.
