New Yorkers split on Biden's plan to cap rent increases

President Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee are trying to grab some of the political spotlight. Tuesday, the White House unveiled a new plan to cap rents and build housing. CBS New York political reporter Marcia Kramer has the story.

Landlords will just circumvent this by charging higher rent upfront instead of raising them year after year, that means your apt that was 4500 a month will now be 6000 or 7000 a month with an increase of 5% every year..yikes!

This is BADLY needed. I know people paying 1600 a month and then out of nowhere when it's time to renew, the new price is 1900 or 2K for no good reason other than they feel like it and the market has people in a frenzy to rent so they don't mind kicking you out to get someone who's new and desperate. It's horrible!
