New Yukikaze Fan-Made Game | Trying It Out on VR Chat

This just makes me wish for a collaboration between Project Aces and ... well, whoever owns the Yukikaze license now. People keep asking for "spAce combat", Yukikaze would be an incredible middle-ground. They could modify the HUD and sound effects to use the ones seen here, but otherwise maintain AC7's visual fidelity. It's been a decade since anything Yukikaze-related was released, so I have no idea what licensing problems there might be, but Bandai worked closely on the OVA with Gonzo, who are owned by ADK, which has worked with Bandai Namco recently on Gundam. We could have a good product come out of such a collaboration.

Decade no longer. Volume 4 of the Yukikaze novels, "Aggressors," released in April 2022. Chohei Kambayashi has also started publishing part 5 of the story (title yet to be determined) in S-F Magazine too.

For the mute symbol bouncing around your screen, the fix would be to disable it via the hud settings. As for the jittery hud, not much can be done. As far as I know it’s a unity issue where if the player gets too far from the origin of the map, objects have a harder time determining positions and so you get a jitter.

It’s the result of floating-point imprecision, this is something that happens regardless of game engine. The solution is to move the entire world around the player, but that kind of system doesn’t work with VRChat’s design.

I loved the Yukikaze series since I first found it. I even tracked down that weird "Rescue me Mave-chan" one shot. I even got a model of Yukikaze. Definitely worth a watch if you can find it.

I'm wishing for the Banshee III to receive more love eventually. 'Just feels more like a proper "spawn point" for the FAF team than the Admiral. (The Admiral is one for, like, a third "United Nations" team, who isn't necessarily on the same page with the FAF and barely cared about fighting the JAMs as far as their higher-ups go.)

Actually you can, VR chat also runs on Desktop. Meaning you don’t really NEED the controllers.

Like the concept and execution but i think the colour could be toned down a bit with a bit of bloom to fit the yukikaze anime lightning. Also yukikaze sky is green not blue.

Well, you don't need to use VR in order to fly this; Let's just say VR mode is simply an addon thing. The entire gameplay was designed with desktop mode in mind; but VR is a plus as well. (I mean, you don't fly third person mode in VR... right?)
