New Zealand Beekeeping: Pre Harvest Preparation

Hello all, welcome back to my first video of 2023! Wish you all have a good new year ahead. Due to holiday season and I have delayed some of my videos upload and spent time with family lately.
Now, we back into the farm again, and get ready to harvest the honey but first before we do that, first thing first is always carry out the AFB check.
Unlike last season I just used the bee escape board, and this time I have self made a feeder rim like tool from the leftover plank, height is about 2 inches (5-6cm) and size is the same with the escape board in terms of width and length.
The usage and purpose of this feeder rim is to create temporary space for the bee clusters which coming down through to the escape board and they can cuddle in this smaller space for just few days and keep warm, rather than hanging outside the entrance (due to space issue - after you will be taking the honey super away for extraction).
Normally, we let the bee escape board to stay there for 48hrs (2 days), depending on the model design, some are 2 exits, some are 8 or multiple exits.
