@@CourtneyCoulston - hi there! I marched trumpet with Carolina Crown in 2019. Sitting inside of the circle is a special tradition that Crown has. Usually it’s only open to people who “aged out” with the corps (meaning they marched their final year of drum corps with them) or staff members. There are however special occasions (like Crown learning camps) where attendees are allowed to sit inside the circle. I love your reaction videos btw, especially the Crown ones 🙂

One of my favorite videos of Crown's hornline! The chart at the end is rather confusing though. I believe the creator of the video ranked the shows' brass scores relative to each other, so the 2012 and 2017 are tied for second high brass score just for Carolina Crown. 2017's show was actually 3rd place overall, and while 2015 is tied for their own 4th highest brass score, they placed 2nd overall. 2013 was not only best brass for that year, but Crown's best brass score ever and the only perfect brass score in history. They also won the gold medal overall too!
@davidjack74184 жыл бұрын
You are correct, the chart is simply Crown's own comparison of brass scores. The only thing that indicates their overall placement is those scores which are colored bronze, silver, or gold based on the medal they earned.

The Wednesday before the opening night i went to high school they were staying at and watched them practice for several hours :). In 2022 I think we will travel to see several of their shows!
@poconofriend7774 жыл бұрын
@@CourtneyCoulston Inside "the circle" is kind of a sacred place for a corps. When doing warm ups, you are supposed to "focus in" to the center and block everything else out. Most corps have a closed circle where only staff and sometimes alumni are allowed inside. On some occasions they open the circle to fans (or at a brass symposium they are hosting) and turn it into a performance. Fun fact: the Blue Devils circle is open to everyone (they almost always perform last so the only way to see their warm up is to skip every other corps show. I guess they reward their fans for sticking around).
