We are! She is trying hard to bring about positive change here, more kindness and common sense into our country. Cost of living here is expensive just like most countries and we have thanks to previous leading government high levels of homelessness. She has a tough job ahead of her and her coalition government to turn that around. She wants to make NZ the best place to be a child, and is in charge of reducing child poverty. @@skipperroy6212 ignore his comment. I'd place strong money he is a National voter. Our two main pilotical parties are National and Labour - reminiscent of American Republicans and Democrats (respectively). Simply put, our country was divided between making profit or caring about our people. After 3 full terms of a National government, nothing really changed. We have what's referred to as a 'housing crisis' (regarding affordability) which occurred during Nationals reign. The above reply is cynical, immature, and ultimately fabricated. NZ, like any other nation, is a country, not a company. The NZ people decided it was time to run it accordingly. The results (countless comments in support of Jacinda) speak for themselves. Actually most Kiwis don't fly. Only middle class, upper middle class and the rich do an OE. Most of them stay here drinking the koolaid about how NZ is so great. New Zealanders leaving isn't an asset to the country as they go and pay all that tax in a foreign country. Most of them do not come back considering 1/5 of our whole population (1 million people) permanently lives in another country.

You may regret what you wish for, once the UN take full control of our dieing democracy here in nz, she sadly is a well rehurst puppet of the un. People would benefit from looking into the agenda. Justin Canada's PM is of the same ideology. It's taken two years to expose his corruption and agenda, hopefully we kiwis can see thro the virtue signaling and hold our political system to account, real issues are not being addressed while distractions mask her passing laws and policy not in tune with kiwi culture. Average kiwi are not aware of the critical political times and are too easily mislead by being too trusting. She could tell the public anything and they would lap it up. People please make informed choices our media has become politically motivated and people to casual to do resurch. Watching Jacinda in open parliament is vastly different her narsistic true colors shine bright mind you the public don't get to see, walk the walk stop talking the talk, earn respect.

Jacinda has a way about her often referred to as "Jacinda Mania" in NZ. She took over a labour party on the brink of collapse facing a real beating in the upcoming election then a short few months later formed a coalition govt and became PM. While I worry a bit about the coalition govt one can only admire her ability and strength. Great speech you did us Kiwi's proud Jacinda.
@IanLEAU6 жыл бұрын
dsndicmsa that's a lie, maybe you should ask a minority like me if I feel stifled by some imaginary language police. I would be happy to tell that I have not since this new Government has been in power. However, the last government made me feel like I could never buy a house in New Zealand no matter how hard I work, at least this one makes me feel like they're trying to make things better.
@IanLEAU6 жыл бұрын
Rather than throwing insults and paranoid discourse my way how about you explain YOUR CLAIM that this current government is implementing forceful tactics to stifle your use of language. If you mean something like Canada's Bill C-16 then we actually have nothing like that. As a matter of fact, there is no government policy that suggests the curtailing of specific discourse used in everyday societies, the ONLY kinds of speech that is not tolerated by law is hate speech and EVEN THEN there are still grey areas in which they are allowed to exist (particularly through the process of operating in the frameworks of free speech). As for your commentary on housing. Well don't even get me started on where this whole mess started. The previous National government had seen the average housing prices skyrocket. In 2013, an average South Auckland home used to cost $398,000 and in 2017 before the elections, that figure jumped to $698,000. What you don't realise is that while housing prices have increased since this new government has been in power, the rate in which those prices increased actually slowed down. Sorry you right wingers seem to have an issue with change, being stuck in the past really makes you hateful doesn't it.
@jackohere18786 жыл бұрын
Hilarious-alt right openly racist bigots who love to s...stir are now "moderate conservative " folk-get a grip bro. Jacinda is hardly at fault for anything Winnie does. From time to time you get a govt and leader you don't like just give them a chance and stay positive as your negativity will weigh you down. I know no govt is perfect an will never please everyone but one can only admire Jacinda as a young woman she has risen to the top on NZ politics which is far more than I and very likely you will ever do.
@IanLEAU6 жыл бұрын
Also, your point about housing in Christchurch and RMA (I'm assuming you're referring to the Resource Management Act) falls short of the real truth. The National Party wanted to reform the RMA but it was heavily criticised because there were too many variables at play. The opposition at the time had argued that the reformed RMA would likely follow the same principles as the National Development Act 1979 that favoured larger scaled projects at the expense of smaller ones. This means the act would place far too much emphasis on rebuilding with the idea of economic improvement and considering Christchurch had just experienced an earthquake, they needed homes more than they needed their large businesses. To your point about Christchurch homes being the cheapest out of any large city in New Zealand... That's a lie, Dunedin holds that title mate.

It has only been a week and gun reform has been set in stone. Not many countries can say they can react so quickly for the greater good of humanity. For a such small nation we do set a big example. Weirdly I and I know most of our population have been concerned how the rest of the world will think of us post these terrible attacks on members of our community and hope it doesn't put people off from visiting\living here. Respect to you Prime Minister of New Zealand for proudly telling the world about how proud you are of your country's geography, history, culture, heritage and to speak in greetings in your indigenous language of New Zealand.Your clear awareness and stance on the effects of Climate Change in the South Pacific as our planet is warming and the sea levels rising is vital. The developed world who is the major contributor to carbon dioxide pollution. Yet still lives under the illusion that climate change is a hoax or a problem for the future. We shielded from its effects by the comforts that our privilege buys us. But all over the world the consequences of climate change can be felt in disastrous proportions. By 2035 the world will speak of all leaders who hold governments right now and all the leaders who stood back and did nothing. Now is the time when drastic action can never be more important. Also in the world today where alot of countries have are multi-cultural population whilst some have indigenous peoples who are facing suppression, oppression and depression or feel their culture, heritage and history has been neglected or being treated as not important. Creating a sense of lost idenity, hurt and causing rejection and lack of participation causing that push factor towards poverty or welfare pension systems, living in isolated communities and are being faced with challenging social and welfare issues. These has resulted in an uneven distribution of integral human development in the whole population for human resource towards a nation's development and growth. United Nations Assembly is the highest platform to speak for the betterment of Humanity and our Planet. Thankyou New Zealand. God bless United Nations.
