They were their own worst enemies. Scott Barrett's IQ is clearly a bit below par. He blatantly led with his should onto a player who was retreating on the ground. There was ZERO MITIGATION for that. Nobody moved into his line and it was a dangerous action. Does it first need to be a fractured neck before an All Black gets properly sanctioned? The reasons that he got off lightly are: 1) He is an All Black and "World Rugby" needs them to be in the knock outs for money-spinning purposes. 2) The All Blacks are one of the serious contenders for the World Cup and if they lose Barrett they are too lacking in depth at lock to be serious contenders. If it were the reverse with a Springbok doing that to an All Black it would have been an immediate red. Recall Bismarck du Plessis's LEGITIMATE tackle on Dan Carter a few years ago that got an immediate red? Even the Kiwi commentators on that one were saying that it was poor refereeing and it was a legitimate tackle. Now we have a review system and they STILL get it wrong. The lost IRB farts sitting in the boardroom calling themselves "World Rugby" are destroying this game. Over the next decade, I expect viewership to drop dramatically as a result of these farcical antics. Why not just introduce a handicap system up front instead. Then at least their agendas are transparent. I suspect that I will stop following the World Cup early this year due to "World Rugby" creating another farce as they did in 2019 where they disrespected the smaller nations. Likely to be more exciting golf being broadcast anyway. Nobody needs "World Rugby" BS.

I couldn't agree more about the pundits - this episode wasn't great (too much complaining and too little analysis)... Where my opinion differs, as a fellow South African: let's stop playing the victim - we're good enough to focus on the quality we've been producing. If people want to complain about how they were treated unfairly, they're going to do it regardless of what we say (or arguably even more if we try and get them to stop). We basically had to sacrifice Rassie for a year to prove a point - and I feel like we can now move on from an era where we were known as the dirty bunch that were targetted when it came to penalties and bans (if you rewatch some of them, you'll realise that, in hindsight, a lot of them were validated)... Let's prioritise what's important and enjoy the rugby the springboks have been giving us (and are most likely still going to).

Watched the game in London with a bunch of SA and AB fans and atmosphere was great. Well done to both sets of supporters for the atmosphere both before and after the game. As a neutral, however, I watched this show with my jaw on the floor. The pundits and guests chose to winge about the bunker system, the length of the game and the ref instead of using their expertise to give us an insight into what each team did right or wrong. This would have made the show much more enjoyable and valuable to watch. Instead, we just got a string of excuses. To say that Barrett's second yellow was not a yellow is laughable. The AB's remain a good team capable of winning the WC, but your pundits on rugby shows need improvement.

Additionally the 7 forwards that has been chosen is in the rules. The All Blacks could have also done it but dit not want to take that risk. I'm a NZer All Black fan and have been since 1976 as a kid. We simply don't have a good enough team to win this world cup, The French have a side that is every bit as good as the AB's had in 2015 and so do the Irish. The Spring Boks have a forward pack that can match them but their backs may not be quite as settled as the other two main contenders however as we know they can bring the passion that could bring the desired result. The only way the All Blacks could win is if they play to their absolute best potential and helter skelter works on those days. I just don't think it will. My heart wants to win but my brain knows better unfortunately. Reality hurts but at the same time I hope the All Blacks entertain the world and make the cup experience great for everyone.

Speaking from South Africa I do believe the AB will not allow that big score difference again or give us a run for our money. We can expect a much challenging and confronting game. We always appreciate a good game with your AB team. The next game will be much tougher since the WC is at stake for both sides.

I’m so hurt by this review. As a bok supporter we lost the last two against the ABs our pundits were humble and fair to say we were outclassed And all South Africans agree. That’s what you get between these two countries. But when we win well these guys speak like this ? It’s a disgrace. We are really hurt by this

I have well and truly heard and seen it all. The level of delusional comments from this panel would make Stalin smile. All Blacks were infringing for 15 mins permanently. No cards. The reason if you watched the game that they managed to hold out the boks was due to this. Thats why the game was 107 mins. The first yellow was a team yellow. Barret took a sneak shot leading with the arm which was away from the ball should have been a straight red.

So... typing this as I'm watching the vid. 1) I've not seen that much comment about bad refereeing. The boys got blown for infringing, That's not the refs fault. I reckon they would have won if their discipline was better. 2) Scot Barrett entered at pace, dived off his feet at a player who's already on the ground (ie. not in the game) and lead with the shoulder, arm tucked. It was dangerous. Law 9.11 states: "Players must not do anything that is reckless or dangerous to others..." Scott's actions clearly fit this description. I'm glad he's not banned but this is a wake-up call. He needs to be cleaner in the RWC games. 3) The time of ball in play is an absurd metric to judge the game. I don;t know why we even bring this up. If you think that rugby is only being played when the Backs are chucking it about, you're watching the wrong game. Rugby is a game were all shapes and sizes have a roll and responsibility to contribute to the win. If you want to watch 15 guys that all look like loose forwards, Rugby League exists. 4) The clean out on Coles "head" was on the back of the neck, and the arms were wrapped. Also Coles was on his feel, therefore in the game, therefore it's legal to clear him. Marks was on the ground, so it was not. The Magins are narrow, but the line is clear. One is allowed, the other was not. 5) Players drawing attention to bad play is bad in only one sense, and that that it means the officials have not noticed an illegal action. I'm not for Dan Bigger level theatrics on the field, that's absurd. But a player who's had foul play against them should be able to bring that to the officials attention. I don;t see what Marx did as anything different to telling a ref you were bitten in a ruck, or had you eyes gouged. Faking an injury when nothing happened should result in a penalty against you. But that's not what Marx did. TMO was already looking at it, as he informed the ref immediately when play was paused. 6) This loss does;t mean the boys WC is over. We'll get out the pool and face the "grand Final" in the quarters. We've got weeks to shake this off.

Come on gents. Scott came in from the side and attacked a player on the ground to the point that his cheek was bleeding. Yes he made initial contact on the shoulder, but then hit Marx head. Marx has never been a whiner, but to attack like that could take Marx out the world cup, then what? SA lose one if the best players of the game. He's lucky to only get yellow imo. BUT, I like Scott and personally am glad he's playing.
