I can relate to that feeling,2 years ago i was sluicing on the Uwharrie river here in N.C in very hot conditions.At the end of the day i merely had to make it up a 15 foot shear bank with my Gold hog stream sluice which is only 15lbs and my bucket of cons. It took all of my intestinal fortitude to make it up the bank and the 40 ft to the trail i honesly did not think i would make it.

That knife you used is a Tajima and is made in Japan. The standard break away blades are the sharpest I have ever seen. You can hold a piece of paper by the corner and slice it in half with a new blade. If you slip with that knife you will be having a bad day.

Bedrock what’s that? Here in lower Michigan bedrock is buried under 4000 to 16,000 feet of glacial overburdened You can find it in the upper peninsula near the Keweenaw, peninsula , copper country Best bet here is Lake Superior or Lake Michigan Beach flour gold.

If you're not familiar with nz bush, NEVER start heading up a hill from a creek because you think a path is in that direction. You won't get 10 min into that bush before being disoriented because of the amount of times you get turned around from dense bush or cliff faces, you can't see the skyline through canopy, the landscape isn't consistent slops in any direction

At 30:47 in the video it looked like giant hogweed over your shoulder. Does New Zealand have that very nasty plant? It is a plant, if you touch it, which can cause some extremely nasty blisters. We have it in Canada but it was introduced and has become very invasive grown on the banks of rivers and steams.
@olsim17302 ай бұрын
I don't believe we do. Were you referring the big light colored feathery seed heads? Toi toi. A native plant. 😊
