Thanks Josh, I'll keep these going and yes the gear is a serious haul, hopefully one day soon I can invest in carbon fibre tripods etc that will help out in that arena, newer battery technology will make a difference as well.

@@BevanPercivalPrimalEarthImages i was going to say that itll be hauling the batteries that would be the killer. I can certainly appreciate the effort that you make! Its truly awesome, so thank you so much!

@@BevanPercivalPrimalEarthImages Not too many complaints Bevan. Still catching the odd unlucky fish and trying to shoot a pheasant or two. We should try to catch up for a fish sometime this winter.

Is that a car battery? No wonder your hikes are so tiring :-O I have a 14Ah LiPol battery and it easily copes with my entire rig for a night, including the lens heater (but excluding the camera - I use a twin battery pack for that). Mind you, I've probably not done a shoot in very low temperatures yet... anyway, another fascinating video and a superb shot at the end. Thank you for continuing to upload!

Thanks! I don't take the big battery on really long hikes, I have smaller purpose built homemade power banks for those trips where I only take enough power for the shoot, about 16ah each. The cold temps drain the power faster, 3 axis motion also is quite a draw on power as well.

It's not a car battery but a lithium ion phosphate 40ah battery - quite a bit lighter. The lithium ion phosphate is supposed to be more stable than the more common lithium cells.

@@BevanPercivalPrimalEarthImages Oh, thanks! I didn't realise, never seen one of those. 40Ah is great! No chance of running out of juice :)

Lovely, thanks, though your voice is a bit quiet in places. Were you out to the west of the road up the western side of the mountains?

Thanks - I have to make do with the equipment I have for now, but working on improving the audio. Thanks for the comment.

Hey, not so much lately the photography has taken over, hard to have too many things on the go but no doubt will get back into it.
