@@dsm577 I can only see the highlights. Used to watch it on TV and the stadium was one massive carnival. Seems this year the atmosphere is much flatter or maybe it does not come out in the highlights? "purchase a 3 day pass for an extortionate price." Maybe the pricing is one of the reasons as the commentator said the "new tournament is in it's second year"? Also do you pick Mens days or Womens days because in all honesty I'd get bored watching the Womens 7s: I'd only want to pay for the Mens Tournament for a day out. As much as I like sports, I have finite time to watch it - even NRL I tend to enjoy the top of the table clashes more than the wooden spoon contenders. Do they still have the Plate, Shield and Cup competitions in the tournament? That's kinda fun for the weaker teams in 7s gives the whipping boys something to scrap over and a bit of minor glory. Anyway still obviously means a lot to win HK for NZ or Fiji and I bet most of the other teams.

Stadium much emptier and let than it used to be … despite so many more free tickets being available than normal . so too were lkf and wan Chai … most of the crowd oblivious to what was going on … meanwhile the true homes of rugby sevens Fiji and NZ don’t get to host tournaments.

I bet it's the administrators introducing "politics" that's behind the shake-up like everything else, "they know best".
