So great you two had such a nice time in Auckland. I'm happy to see the weather was good - Auckland can be a bit gloomy on cloudy days. Auckland is pleasant but it still lacks the 'vibe' of more densely populated cities. Its population is constantly growing so maybe one day it will offer a more exciting experience for visitors.

The noisy insects are native cicadas - they are the 'sound of summer' in NZ. You'll hear the sweet chirping of crickets at night time.🙂 Also, the "R2D2 Bird" is most likely a Tui.😉

I'm sorry, this has to be said, you both take your vacation to the maximum and run with it. I love how you know what you are doing to the T when you wake up. Hey guys, when you were up Mt Eden that robotic bird sound wasn't a bird, it was a cicada, kind of like a cricket, they make that sound when it goes over 21 degrees, and kids love to hunt for their cases (they shed their exoskeleton and leave it attached to the bark).The sound of a kiwi summer.

Lovely first look around New Zealand. Great sights of Auckland skyline. Lovely fascinating tours. Nice restaurants especially breakfast. What a great zoo, the best fact for me being, “New Zealand is the only country that doesn’t have any animals that are harmful to humans”. Any place that doesn’t have deadly snakes, spiders or crocodiles 🐊 is immediately at the top of my wish list to visit. Onto the cruise now.

I do poi spinning as a hobby and a little fun fact, poi (performance art) originated in New Zealand, heres a little history of it: poi Poi originated with the Māori people of New Zealand, where it is still practised today. Poi has also gained a following in other countries. The expansion of poi culture has led to a significant evolution of the styles practised, the tools used, and the definition of the word "poi." And is used in Circus skills known as Flow art too.

Thoroughly enjoyed that Brogan. Thank you very much. Felt like I was there with you both. Oh to be on holiday again. You're both such a lovely genuine couple. I visited my friends back in the early 1990's on the South Island. They lived in Christchurch. My friend is divorced now and lives with a New Zealander now in Picton. I went on my own and remember the excitement I felt. I couldn't believe I'd made it to the other side of the world on my own. I'm glad you're enjoying every minute. You have so much more to look forward to. You deserve every happiness in the world. Love to you both.
