I'm thinking of an ability that takes Link into the air like an updraft to defeat the new stone enemies, for example, or flying bombs that Link can make fly themselves with his green arm. Like the beetle in Skyward Sword!

1)a mechanic to push the enemy’s back but in a 360 degree area, like a big korok leaf 2) to temporarily stop time all together, leaving link to hit multiple enemies

I think: 1: Link can explore underwater And 2: Link has some kind of mount to explore the sky, maybe even the return of the Loftwings, but I think, more likely, something Sheika or a completely new animal

I think the Grappling Hock would be a cool feature/weapon/ability to return. Especially if you could get momentum woth it and seemlessly transition into flying/diving etc.

That phasing through ability could be a speedrunner's biggest dream or nightmare depending on how it plays out :D Also, I think they fixed the design flaw of falling in skyward sword. In skyward sword there was regular old falling where you have no real control and there was the diving falling. Regular old falling would cause you to void out. There was no way to go into a diving fall from it, and it was annoying. In BotW 2 they seem to have a lot of different types of falling and from the looks of it they just fully integrate normal falling into that system. At first I was a little bit surprised that you could go back into that state directly from diving falling, but it makes sense if it's no longer separate.

I really wonder how much time we actually will spend soaring/ sky-gliding, since these patents are describing all these different positions. I mean, there will probably be a lot fighting in the sky. Also, I suppose we will soar between the sky-islands with the glider, and not with the Skylift [Crimson or whatever color) bird as in Skyward Sword. And use the green space/time droplet to reach an island above Link. That's how we will travel between the earth and the sky. What do you think, Jesse?

What would be really cool is if loftwings were like the new horses. Ex. You jump off an island and land in a loft wing that has 2 dash points and a fast speed. There could be different versions with some being special.

@@dragon4355 Loftwings would never be the new horses because horses have limits and in certain areas you need to climb/walk. In the Sky the Loftwings could go basically anywhere so gliding/falling would become meaningless and apparently that's the main mechanic now so no I think Loftwings arent even in the game. Also, I'm pretty sure that in Botw the Rito are the Loftwings.

My whole theory about this game... It all starts with the introduction sequence in which Link and Zelda search for "Ganon's Origin"... in an old cave. This cave is located in the Faron region. Link and Zelda find in this cave, however, not Ganondorf but an old cave painting on which is painted that Ganondorf is hiding under Castle Hyrule. The Catacombs of Hyrule. This is for the safety of the Hyrule people only underground to enter. The two go into these catacombs, find Ganondorf and he wakes up by Zelda's presence. Ganondorf wakes up from his sleep and makes sure that the whole cave is flooded with Malice... During the earthquake Zelda falls into the depth and Link is injured in the arm. The sword is also injured... Link loses consciousness as the so-called Ancient Magic of Legend from 10000 years ago fuses with Link's arm... and then. His new arm allows Link to do or see some things like the flying islands. These serve solely to repair the master sword. But Link can't get to the sky that easily. A new mechanic is introduced. The so-called Towers of Contemplation. There are several such towers in Hyrule, and only they make it possible to be close enough in the sky to get to the islands. How do you do that? The short answer dungeons. There are as many towers as there are dungeons in Botw2. Dungeons like Death Mountain's crater or Lake Hylia's stalactite cave were blocked in the first part. The shrine at Lake Hylia, for example, blocked a dungeon entrance to that dungeon. Link gets another ability in each dungeon to defeat new enemies or reach locations. At the end of a dungeon, a boss fight takes place. The platform on which the boss fight takes place is actually a tower of contemplation. Ganonshass/Bosskampf prevented towers from being visible in Hyrule. This is because the towers only rise into the sky when the boss fight is defeated. And surprise... what you saw in the delay footage is exactly such a tower that has just been extended. Only the towers get Link close enough to the islands to reach them with his new ability. What makes me think that? In the patents it says that in certain exceptional cases the ability brings a listener up. (Works only on such towers) 👍

Elemental bombs: it acts like a normal bomb if you do nothing, but if it gets hit/shot by any elementak attack it will absorb that element and give an elemental explosion once it explodes

I don’t consider BOTW to be a good “Zelda” game, but it was a good game. BOTW just feels like a huge step backwards in terms of how Zelda involved over the years. I want classic dungeons and items. The hookshot, hero’s bow, megaton hammer, bottles, and etc

I just really wanna see the mirror shield again, combined with the mirrors ability from Link to the Past to "jump" to a new/alternate world. .....oh, while falling backwards and launching arrows of course.

I think a cool and fun ability Link could get in botw 2 would be foresight, where it would predict the enemy's attacks and allows Link to dodge and counterattack, kind of like xenoblade but more action focussed, maybe using the other abilities like rewinding time to string together combos, and maybe incorporate flurry rushes to spice them up from the original's flurry rushes.

It would be neat if Link could suck the life force out of enemies to restore health or charge up other abilities related to his enhanced arm, or even remove/purify the malice from enemies or pools of malice

I feel like one of the abilities that we will have is a hookshot/grapple ability using the hand. Something that functions similar to the wire bug in monster Hunter rise and is used to get partway up cliffs and mountains as well as to vault over and onto enemies etc

So about the mechanic where link travels to sky islands it could be based on a improved stasis and raindrops. What I am saying is link could travel back in time as a raindrop to before it seeped through the sky island and fell onto the ground. As a puddle is shown in trailer and link seems to phase through the sky island and we can see green water droplet effect whe he does that. Like reverse journey of a raindrop

I would like for them to bring back the loftwing with better flying mechanics to traverse Hyrule and the sky. Use of the glider would still be used for shorter travel.

Not a new ability, but a cryonis extension, where you can summon ice blocks in the rain everywhere you want. This woild also work really well together with the time reverse and hookshot

I think all the Sheikah Slate abilities will have some new features in this game. The Reverse-time method is a more upgraded version of Stasis to me. I think that because this was supposed to be a DLC for Breath of the Wild. We got a bike and faster cool-down times on the Champion's abilities. What the "jump through solid object" is? My guess is maybe upgraded Cryonis due to the liquid form. Just my theory.

For the BOTW 2 side quest on the Surface, I want to see Link fight alongside with the current Champions (Riju, Teba, Sidon and Yunobo) to protect their respective villages/domains while trying to follow the footsteps of the past Champions of Hyrule. Thus, telling either Link or Zelda their time travel experience from the events of Age of Calamity; confirmed that there are now 2 separate timelines. Traveling through time has become a part of the Legend of Zelda mythology/lore.

This is not really original, but I am almost certain link will get this ability. A grappling hook arm, like seen in some concept art, where the arm transforms. It would work like a normal grapling hook, but you could also use this to pull enemies and objects to you. And this is why I think it will be added, just think of how this could work together with the time reverse mechanic. You can pull a box or enemy to you reverse time and fling it back to the other enemies. The possibilities are almost endless

To be honest, while I don't think it will actually happen, I'd love some kind of "Vanilla-Shield Clipping". Like he can anti-fall through roofs, he can also phase through a specific typ of wall. That could make for some cool dungeon design where Link gets the ability mid-way through the dungeon which can then be used to get to a new area. Well, if there actually will be unique dungeons at all... Another one, (this might be a long shot, pun very much intended) classical Dungeon Items. Maybe a mirror shield that can deflect Guardian beams or even a way to make music, like Wolf Link or the Ocarina of Time :)

This actually gives me a little bit of anxiety knowing that if we're gonna be doing a lot of soaring, flying, what have you, I hope they give us a bigger stamina whale or take it away completely, because this sounds like a lot of energy is gonna be used. I'm hoping that maybe there might be some kind of energy that Link gets from that arm or some kind of internal flow of energy that will make him be able to run or soar without using as much stamina if any at all. Or like in the breath of the wild master mode when the enemies were able to regenerate their health I'm Kind of hoping that there will be a mechanism or some kind of ability where link could somehow regenerate his health in some way or another using that arm or some kind of power that comes with it.

The new Splatoon 3 mechanic (I don't remember it in 2 so excuse me if I am incorrect about that) looks like a hookshot ability to me, not sure why something similar wouldn't be in this. Jumping and falling puzzles could indeed get very cool. Inside of climbing towers this time around (because a few of them were climbing-ish puzzles in their own way) ascending and descending shafts or vertical areas to gain access to areas (underground say) would almost be like a combination of Star Fox/Zelda puzzle solving. You're on rails when falling, but may have to stop downward progression by unlocking a gate or destroying enemies, etc. Then continue falling to progress progression.

5:55 so Nintendo is trading one unrealistic aesthetic for another aesthetic that is unrealistic but also less noticeable for the player. There's going to have to be another patent to fix a characters body deforming in order to fit clothing and items

Don’t know if this was mentioned before but what if the rewind time ability comes into play when Zelda begins to fall or after she falls. Maybe the ability somehow saves Zelda from her imminent death?

Zelda dies. She's the golden floating orb. Since she's a goddess, albeit in human form, her spirit has to wait for another Zelda to be born and fuse with that zelda. Though losing memory is part of the fusion process. While being in the orb form she gas access to all past memories, etc.

I know it won’t happen, but I really want Link to have hand-to-hand combat abilities, if only as a way to balance the weapon breaking mechanics. Even better if Link can learn new strikes and such so you can have different or custom combos, and even have a dodge/weave mechanic to avoid enemy attacks. Go after Gannondorf with nothing but your fists. How badass would that be?

new ability... mostly i think hes getting a new way to show bows longer weither it be an ability that gives longer range or longer range bows, with streched out sky islands and alot of sky focus in the trailers, with out reworking the bow mechanics things will be difficult for bow users.

As well as in these new patents there will be probably a Switch special addition they’ve done this with animal crossing and split to now every time we see the switch on the patents so this kind of confirms that the switch pro is not coming in 2023 or I could come but much later which I don’t think so I think it will come either 2024 2025
