At this point ports are Nintendos best money makers these days, unfortunately all they even put the most care into anymore is Pokémon, Mario spin offs, and Kirby. Also botw 2 which will probably be delayed another four years at the least

True, Smash is largely made by Bandai Namco now, but Nintendo and Sora, Ltd. both still have a lot of input over that franchise, plus Xenoblade and Fire Emblem are both sales juggernauts now, and Metroid seems to *hopefully* FINALLY be making a slow and steady comeback ever since Samus Returns in 2017.

I can't stress how excited I would be if we get the HD remasters for Zelda: Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. Two of my all-time favorite games. I've wanted these so much for years. Never liked the Wii or Wii U so I only ever played Twilight Princess once at launch and quickly moved on but I love my Switch and I want to revisit these titles like a lot. Hopefully the Twilight Princess HD version is based on the Wii U version with the significantly improved textures and not the Tegra version. Otherwise that would be a huge downgrade over the Wii U version and would be really disappointing.

Dude if you have literally any pc or laptop built in the last 10 years. Just emulate those games and install the HD texture packs the community has made. They do a better job remastering Zelda games than Nintendo does. Check out Henriko Magnifico’s patreon. His remaster of OOT and Twilight princess are way better than the original OOT3d and Twilight Princess HD. And are super easy to install

@@motoxtim34 as someone that does use emulators, on my phone and pc, I'd still rather have a hard copy of an official release. I fuckin love emulation and I'm really grateful for all the work people put in to archiving and in many cases improving on the original. That's currently how I play these games. Majoras mask HD was incredible. But if an official hard copy is available, I'm still going to get it. I'd rather have it on a cart and play it on my switch wherever. Also, for a lot of people that aren't really computer Savvy, installing Rom hacks and texture packs might not be very accessible. On top of that, if someone that grew up with these games wanted to introduce them to their child or something, what's easier, getting it on their already existing switch at the click of a button? Or handing them a laptop or pc set up for emulation. I play more roms than any other form of game, but I can 100% see the value of an official release

I believe Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons would be coming from Grezzo. Where Tantalus or one of Nintendo's in house teams would be porting Wind Waker HD & Twilight Princess HD. I completely agree with you. Personally, I would also prefer a new remake of the Oracle Zelda games, instead of older HD ports we've already played.

So from what I understand, the actual leaks from Jeff Grubb are: 1. There will be a Nintendo Direct before the 18th 2. WW and TP HD have been ready to release on the Switch for a long time 3. There is a remake or remaster of the first Metroid Prime in the works While it seems logical to connect these, remember that Grubb said he didn't know the actual contents of the direct. Given that Nintendo is very tight-lipped these days, it could be that all we're getting is another mini third party showcase. I'm not trying to be overly negative, I'm just saying that there is no guarantee we're getting that "HUGE ZELDA BLOWOUT" a lot of people seem to be expecting.

Twilight princess is a must for a remake. Wish they could do a 007 Golden Eye remake, Perfect Dark, Star fox 64, Conkers bad fur day, Donkey Kong 64, Jet force Gemini, Turok, Banjo Kazooie. Even though it's cool if they announce the HD versions or remakes of the Zelda games, I honestly am not looking forward to that. I'm waiting for Breath 2 news. Remakes are fine and all but I already played these games through and through and most of the time, small add-ons like a new dungeon or temple, sometimes not at all are add into the game but that's basically it. It's the same experience but it looks better. For new players that never played these games before, I would obviously recommend it but for myself, it's just the same game again.

I mean I've been burned too many times to get my hopes up about TP, WW and MPT for Switch. The most surprising announcement for me would be either Zelda Oracle remakes like what they did with Link's Awakening, or even more-so Kid Icarus remakes and/or a new game altogether. I'd love to see Gameboy games released for VC, including Minish Cap, Pokemon, etc etc. Problem with Gamecube games would be the triggers that were so special with the Gamecube's controllers.

I have not played TP or WW since the GameCube era. (Some are still shook when I tell them TP came out on the GC first lol). I could see them in a September direct, November/December release. I still think it is kinda wishful thinking, but a bundle would be amazing. I consider myself a die-hard fan and I love collecting everything Zelda I can find and lately its been pretty dry. If they made an OLED model Zelda Switch I would scoop one up in a heartbeat. There are other games i haven't played in a long time but those are definitely the two that I - and seemingly many more - want most. Oracles, Minish Cap and Foursword I could wait for (though i do love subrosia).

I think the September direct will have WW, TP and Metroid prime. Then March direct will be botw2 with game play and title. Also Metroid prime 4 and a switch refresh that supports 4K, faster frame rates and shorter load times. That will be slowed down in some games by DRM.

It is time! TP & WW ports might release as early as next month in order to give BotW2 its time to shine in March next year. They really need to show an actual trailer for BotW2 not just a teaser & show the subtitle ofc. I remember BotW in 2016 E3 had the entire floor dedicated to it but now BotW2 is releasing spring next year (same as the 1st BotW) yet we don't know anything substantial! How will the same world be used in 2, how much time passed after the ending? What new abilities does Link have? Is the Sheika slate still usable? will Ganon come back? Are the NPCs/towns the same from BotW? Will there be bigger dungeons or shrines? Sooo many questions that need to be answered lol Outside of Zelda I want anything F-Zero & I want to see the new Fire Emblem game. Hopefully there is a direct & it's amazing!

Personally, I'm hoping for Wind Waker HD and especially Twilight Princess HD to be ported over to Switch, and that it's announced at this Direct if it is indeed happening. I love them both (the latter being not only my favorite game in the franchise but possibly my favorite game of all time), and as you said it wouldn't be especially difficult to port them over to the Switch given that Wii U versions already exist. Even if they do announce one for this holiday and the other for Spring I know it would be more than worth the wait in my book. I'd even buy them separately I think the games are THAT GREAT!

I have STRONG DOUBTS about this. We are more or less 6 months away from the release of BOTW2... Is really Nintendo interested in releasing this supposed remakes right now so close to BOWT2 release? They have had 5 years to do so, and never did... I don't think putting all these games so close together will benefit them in any way. I don’t really have any hope that Wario Land will get another game within the decade, let alone before the next system, but if we got a new one and if it ended up being good I’d quite possibly be the happiest person alive

Better performance. TPHD already had better graphics planned, but Nintendo told Tantalus not to change it so much.
